2. Magician's Hat

Ed had bought the hat for a new act he was putting together for a local talent show. Perhaps it was a little nerdy, but he certainly enjoyed magic, and the prop hat certainly had the look right. He got his outfit together, including the hat and made his way to the competition. It was fairly small-time, not a huge turn out, but certainly a good amount for his debut. When they called his name, there was a few claps from the audience, they had seen a few magic acts at this point and they hadn't been too exciting. The boy took the stage, projecting an air of confidence and charisma, but still the audience wasn't swayed.

The ring trick, nothing.

The rope cut and reconnected, nada.

Even the disappearing milk trick was a bust.

Ed was beginning to sweat, the crowd just wasn't going for the usual bits. He gulped, deciding to skip the rubber pencil act and move straight to the finale. "Alright ladies and gentleman, for my final trick-" A few joking claps and snickers crept up from the crowd. "Erm, for my last trick, I'll pull a rabbit out of my hat," he held up his hat and held for the reaction, however he didn't hold long. "Alright, nothing in my hat," He upturned the top hat, revealing the insidea, "AAAAND-" He lifted his hand to reach in... however...

BOOM!!

The hat burst forth a pink blast of confetti and glitter, a smoke screen filled the stage as the crowd gasped. Ed felt funny, the gas made his skin itch, what the hell was that? He cough, his voice slipping higher as his clothes began to dissolve. He waved the smoke away as best as he could, but the cloud clung to him as he felt muscles spasm and shift, bones creaking. She gasped as a sudden emptiness was felt between her legs. As the vapor finally cleared, a young woman was revealed wearing a bunny suit and a blue cape. She stood confused, her expression matching the crowd's. Her ears twitched, as did her tail. With a gulp, she parted her lips to reveal her slightly bucked teeth,

"Uhm... Ta-daah?" She offered shyly.

The crowd burst into applause! The final trick was stupendous! A perfect misdirection with the old, tired novelties leading into what honestly looked like real magic! Ed was happy her trick went over so well... the only issue was... What would she do for the encore?
