Description This was my final piece for my final project on my Diploma course.
It was based on crime and criminals and my old life at 127 Ethel St. It wasnt a nice place to grow up, it was hard and it was rough. I began to realise that my old house looked a lot like 25 Cromwell St (Fred and Mary Wests house) which was strange. So i began to combine my research on their life and what they did with my old life and some aspects seemed to fit, worryingly.

This was quite an ambitous scale for me and i just experimented as i went along with various materials such as wax, which i hadnt used before, flowers and applying photos to canvas. Theres a lot going on so its much better viewed large, especially the photos that ive printed on the canvas (note the toppled bin in the bottom left corner)
Everything just represents the pain and torture, the bad and negative aspects of my life combined with the arcitechture of a house, no one knows what goes on behind closed doors sort of thing.

Ive tried to combine firgurative aspects with abstract and i think in some areas it works, in some not quite. But i was finding my own style during the process and it was helpful.

I love and hate this piece.
