While I still love the anime version of Kyo Kara Ore Wa, I must admit that the live-action adaptation has several improvements, not least of which is showing Kyoko as a good fighter. I absolutely love that.
One thing I noticed is that in one episode when Kyoko throws a punch, her other fist is tucked in at her side. That's classic karate technique. I'm not sure if it was intentional or not, but to me that seems to indicate that she isn't 'just' a brawler. She's had actual training in how to fight.
Recently I watched the movie 13 Steps of Maki: The Young Aristocrats. The main character, Hyuga Maki, is the leader of a girl gang that protects innocent people. Just like Kyoko! That got me thinking "What if Maki was her sensei?"
