Description
Embracing the velvet dawn of the after light
We lost our souls out in the darkness of the cold night
The pale moon won’t shine overhead,
We are lost in the brooding shadows,
We are dead
Reaching for the cold pills in the limelight,
Of a meteor shower after prime time,
We lost our morals in a drinking game,
We are lost in the lifeless wash of stars,
We are dead
We have lost our hearts,
To face the dark for all eternity,
We threw away our dreams,
Our yearn for heaven,
Our morality
We might as well be dead,
Re-animated corpses zoned out to walk in the night,
Dark circles shadowing sunken in eyes,
Pale and cold,
We may as well be,
For all the agony we have caused,
How can anyone be called human?
Embracing the velvet dawn of the after light,
I watched the soldiers of our time,
As they made a deal that cost them their lives,
And I laughed and screamed,
And I cried,
Because it wasn’t me
And then I lost myself,
And then I lost my way,
And then I saw,
I was the death,
I am the decay.
