Another selection from the audio children's book by Mikhail Tank called "The Art Studio of Life." This is one of my favorite pieces, the Zebra coming to Life from a drawing. The client wanted a colored pencil approach to this book -- I hadn't used colored pencils for years, I realized, so there was some hesitation. I even offered to do all the pieces in acrylic at colored pencil prices, but he insisted on pencils. In the end, I slipped in one acrylic piece for the last shot -- it ended up being one of the strangest acrylics I'd ever painted. It just didn't feel like my work, but they liked it and bought it. I can't help feeling I should have done that one in pencils as well.
