I don’t believe they ever had a name.

They were likely a holdover from the days in which visitors to the city were required to wear them so that everything looked green.

no i mean the style, because if you remember correctly, as i do, The spectacles had two styles, regular for you know, average people, and then a jury rigged version for lion and toto with straps,

The name for glasses of that style is "pince-nez", French for pinch nose, referring to how they stay on.

Oh, you're right I did misread!  When Ozma said "RingMISTRESS" I thought she was refrring to changing the Gate Guardian to that, but she was actually correcting herself for saying "RingMaster".
