Sweeeet! Kirikizan is definitely one of my favorite new Pokemon- 6th favorite of all time, actually 
(And yes, Pokemon have grown less cute and more evil/badass in later gens, but I like it that way)

Monsters can be various things.
Beastly,Cute,Human-like,just-plain-weird,disgusting,and an infinite number of other things.
What about Pokemon like Himonchan and Himonlee? And all the other Humanoid Pokemon in previous games?
They're human-like Pokemon...

lol ok ok i can accept pokemon how they are
but i was just saying how if i were to think about little creatures that are cute enough to put in your pocket for collection,
emphasizing the "pocket" part, not the monster part

yes there are the hitmonlee and hitmonchan
and even the machop - machamp, who are very human looking
but they still give off this animal-ish brute-ish feel
instead of sophisticated well trained fighting robot

Its alright. To each his own. I just get a little annoyed when people say things like "They're not even monsters anymore!" when they ARE monsters.
I think its just this picture of Kirikizan that makes him look like of off.
The collectible monster aspect is still there. Even more so with the vast number of species available.
Check out the Sugimori artwork for Black and White. It actually reminds me of his Kanto and Johto style mixed with elements of Hoenn and Sinnoh.
