I am a beginner... could I ask what kind of macro lense you use? Macrophoto has info. on using the reverse lense method, is this what you use? Or do you have a nice big expensive lens ... thanks so much

I'm just using a Nikon Coolpix 995 digital camera with the stock lens (8-32mm, but I don't know how that would translate to an optical lens). I've done some pretty cool stuff with this camera and a Kodak that I gave to my Father-in-law.

Of the two, the autofocus on the Kodak was much better with macro subjects. With the Nikon, I tend to put it manual focus mode and move it in and out until everything is crisp. It works, but I have to be at a set distance from teh subject...

Two things that help with the macro mode on digital cameras: lots of light and a tripod. If you have enough light, you can take hand-held photos, but in low light situations, a tripod is a must.

Well done It's almost creepy too watch this photo because it's kind of surreal. You know there's just ONE set oranges down there, yet the droplets makes them multiply. And what's cool is that the perspective of the oranges varies from droplet to droplet!

this has a great "how was it done?" feel to it - well done

thats a damn nice piece. everyone does water drops, but at least you've evolved that and made it different cos of the oranges. you should get more recognition

This is great--I've been working on something a bit like this as well----can't seem to get the reflections just right though----back to work I go!

It was very difficult for me to get the parts I wanted in focus. I think the effort paid off.

Thanks for the comment!

That is outstanding!
I think you just raised the stakes.
I'm consigning my lame idea to the round file and thinking again.
