Description Mankind has fallen into chaos. Everywhere are the remains of what used to be a vast metropolis and the surviving few are left to utilize the scraps left by nuclear destruction to rebuild homes for themselves. The construct seen here is one such vast vertical dwelling, housing and protecting a multitude of survivors from the bitter weather and ruthless terrorism that pervades out of doors. Digitally painted in Photoshop CS4 and printed on canvas. This something I put together as a donation for a charity auction: Jewels in July presented by architreasures.

Such a dystopia The atmosphere is great; dark and magnetic in a way. The theme is very well expressed in the picture, and the colours and perspective really give that right feeling. Good job!!

Thanks! This was one of those pieces that didn't really come together for me until damn near the very end, but it's become my favorite so far. I'm really excited to get my next piece up, it's very near done but I keep bouncing between it and this Flash game project I'm making with my pal who lives out in Oregon.

This one looks great. Perspective is amazingly explicative. As you said in the comment, we really got the idea, throught the colors of the sky, of a nuclear destruction. The palette you used for the sky is very particular, this pink gray gives the feeling we are out of time... like there's no more sense to ask if it is night and day... !

That sky went through a number of edits! I started out with something that looked more like a night sky that might help highlight the lights scattered around the complex but I felt it just wasn't saying enough about the abysmal conditions these survivors are left to endure. Winter makes me think of helplessness, so I lightened up the sky to what you see here and tossed in some snow both for atmosphere and to help convey that gloom. Just thinking about a place like this saddens me.

As a young one I wanted to do comics. I made a ton of them on whatever paper I could find, but at the time my stories never were very original. Now that I have the mindset to make something unique, I just don't have the time. I have a story written out for one book that's been sitting around for years, featuring Jill as the protagonist. I haven't fleshed out her universe enough though to set out drawing it. Drawing backgrounds! That's the tough part here because I just don't know what the backgrounds are going to look like in her world.

I see. I think the best a man can do is to give to the world untold stories, ideas, originality. I see what you are saying and i hope one day i will see Jill moving in a story! i wish you the best!!!
