my Shadow was my second most powerful monster, next to my Coatol. I remember he had a hasty personality, so he'd always get in the first strike with a powerful ice or thunder spell.

no, you're not. I didn't know much about the reasons for the personalities for quite a while, either. it took a big mistake to realize it, because I was giving one of my monsters orders that collided with its nature.

lol, you are lucky. try giving too many heal commands to a monster that's raised with a wisdom-oriented nature. ordinarily, their nature would just make them ignore that they even have the heal spell (if you try not to use the Command option). that's what I accidentally did to my Shadow, he hated me for quite a while and refused to use his best attacks when I needed him to.

It's ok, a lot of people don't. I've played the game so many times and love it so much that it just seems simple that I know how they work.
