Because anthros have a many variations of mixing between people and animal(or unspecific creature)) You take small pieces from human I take more.
Also hair can brings variety in your character and can make characters more unique.

i prefer my characters to be more realistic the most hair they have is the fur that coveres them just like how they have digitigrade paws instead of feet

I don't think that have some canon) And it give us so many opportunities for imagination.
I don't think anthro with hair isn't realistic. I'm also more like digitigrade with paws then platigrade with feet.

my OC Fang dose have one thing that sets him apart he wears a bone necklace shaped like a fang which is ironic and it has his tribe's mark on it. in the novel i'm writing he was given it by the Chief of his tribe who had taken a liking to him after he proved himself. the daughter of the said Chief is 1 of the character's love intrests
