Title and lyrics from the symphonic black metal album by Obsidian Gate.I circle the constellation,
devote to the ancestral nightsky.
I release my spirit in thy shine
as the time of thy birth is night.
Hear my cries!!!
Cold-ardent shine of thine,
thou shall inflame the pyre in me
to burn all feelings of the heart
and to render back blood with blood...
Cold-freezing shine of thine,
thous shall awake the powers in me
to darken the sky at day
and to drown the stars at night.
And he came, roaring like a mountain-storm,
a cyclone out of the everblack night,
sweeping fiercely into my warmless heart
that I shall sacrifice to his shrine.
This was originally going into my scraps, but the more i added to it, the more it grew on me. I now really like it

"used to be"? you no longer like metal?
it's hard to describe... it's like certain music resonates with the soul. Black metal gets through to me, including the dark imagery of it. The music connects with my emotions. And it greatly inspires me too.
I particularly love ambient/atmospheric black metal. When i listen to this music, i feel a part of it. It's also the energy and passion of it. Makes me feel more alive

Well said. I still listen to Metal, but for many years I was a purist. Now I can listen to anything. I still listen to Metallica or Rammstein when I'm working out (or maybe Danzig and the Misfits). You have to tell me the groups that do ambient/atmospheric metal -it sounds interesting. It is good that you have that connection with the music. You have found your themes and your symbols. That is what makes an artist successful in my mind. They can express themselves in a language that is unique to them.

i mainly listen to music when i'm doing art... and yes, perfectly said! there is almost a spiritual connection between the art and music i listen to.

These were all really good. I used to listen to some Death Metal back in the day like Death or Carcass, but I mostly like thrach like Pantera and Metallica (before the black album). I like the atmospheric sounds they have in these vids, and the visuals are cool too. I can see how it is very inspirational.
