Description
I was asked to paint a woodland guest sign in that would be able to hang in the nursery after. I decided to paint a tree with many limbs with a little raccoon peeking out of a knot hole in the tree's trunk. I added the little owl hiding towards the top of the tree as well. I used acrylic paints that I added water too to create a watercolor look to any color on the canvas. I then used a permanent marker for the lettering at the bottom. The idea is to have the guests sign the painting by pressing their thumb into one of the four shades of green ink and placing a thumbprint on the tree. the thumbprint represents leaves on the tree and each guest then can sign their name on their thumbprint with a fine tip pen. The finished painting boasts a colorful tree full of brilliant leaves which will become a treasured heirloom and a reminder of all who attended the baby shower.
