Description

I made this both as a present for my brother and as a way to experiment with color. I do have to say I am very happy with the results. I've been learning a lot about color from a YouTube channel called "Color with Kurt". I do wish I could have made the background more interesting and I wish I made Megalon's drills the same size (remember, I suck at drawing). But I overall had a lot of fun with this one. I just wish Megalon had a more epic role in the movie he starred in. Maybe we'll see some hope in the new Godzilla franchise.

Megalon belongs to the Godzilla Franchise

Stay Awesome!

I am from Project Comment

So this is interesting to me and I was drawn to it because of pure nostalgia. I loved this movie as a kid. I know, I am fully aware of the reputation this movie has being considered by many to be one of the worst Godzilla movies ever made. Then again, it wasn’t even suppose to be a Godzilla movie but a pilot for a new TV series that was never made. Godzilla was just thrown in to draw in interest two weeks before the movie was planned to begin filming. Regardless, Megalon has always been one of my favorite Godzilla enemies and I think he deserves a reboot to really bring him to life. Plus, this isn’t the worse Godzilla movie...Godzilla vs. Hedorah was if we’re talking about purely the Japanese ones.

Now, I am glad you said a few things I was actually going to point out in my review of this piece in your description there. I am glad you brought those up because now I feel less guilty about saying it. I do agree that the drills need to be changed. The drills do need to look more alike. You have the one closer to the foreground more detailed than the one in the back. The horn also needs work since one of the spikes is going down instead of up. I also agree with you about the background, maybe you could have incorporated something from the movie like explosions or something? That would have been cool. Overall, this isn’t too bad. You got most of the forms right, the coloring is good, I especially like the head portion. You got that down pretty good there with the overall shape of it with the eyes and the details. Very nice. Not a bad piece if I do say so myself. Go Megalon, hopefully you’ll get a movie reboot someday!

Whoaa, i really like what i see o3o I love the way it looks like he's poppin through a hole in the background, really dig that.

I haven't watched too many Godzilla movies, so i really don't know who this guy is, but he reminds me of a rhino beetle combined with a Beedrill from Pokemon, the gold decorations on the metal look very interesting, i love those curves or waves, idk what they are :"D

Overall, a very good drawing, with decent lighting and shading, really beautiful work you have here (and it's an experimental piece, holy smokes great job!!!). The only thing i would recommend would be working more on the metal effects (dem drills could really use some shine and maybe even some shading)

Love this so much, keep up the good work!!

I wonder, how did you add the text? your font seem to be blurry and I can't understand why.

Otherside it is nice drawing. You could improve it by using texture. Like metallic one fort the drill, maybe more organic for the shed etc... Also like if the hole was using real teared paper it could improve the feeling. Scan it in high res and it would be pretty easy to reuse afterward.

One way to improve the background easily is using the silouette of a city, it would also help scale the kaju and enforce the gigantic impression.

Anyway have a nice day ^^
