Time passed very slowly for the tired young captives, each second like water dripping from the end of an icicle: Sliding slowly past, hanging suspended and cold for a tense eternity...and then dropping away to make way for the next. Both kept up their struggles almost non-stop, but those struggles gradually began to slow, their energy fading and despair - yet not defeat - creeping in to take its place. After all, it had been the middle of the night when they'd been kidnapped - at the end of a long week. Neither had had the faintest moment of actual rest since they had been dragged into this waking nightmare, and the lack was starting to tell. A nagging urge to take a nap, to try to regain some of what had been expended, tugged at their weary flesh. But, neither Cody nor Bryn was willing to do so yet, afraid of missing any opportunity which might present itself. After all, they had no idea how long they had before their captors "returned"... But eventually, they both fell still, unable to really continue with their seemingly futile physical resistance. Then, they just sat and waited, each locked into their own world of blindness, helplessness, and anxiety. Waiting to see what fate may lay in store for them, once this "boss" the one had mentioned in the van arrived. Fortunately - perhaps - for Cody and Bryn, they didn't have to wait much longer...
