"The Floating Sky Scraper" is my nickname for the two battleships in the Fuso class and i think it's a bit obvious why
The super structures on these two were TALL. I think because of their giant towers they're my favorite Japanese battleships (the second battleship in this class is the Yamashiro, which has a different tower design which i believe might also be even taller). I kinda messed up the tower in this one, though, but maybe I'll do better if I take a go at the Yamashiro.

Got any advice for shading of the hull, superstructure, turrets, etc.? I'm currently drawing a hypothetical HMS Repulse had she survived the waves of Japanese planes off Singapore and was modernized for use in the 50s

Fuso was literallly obliterated by internal explosions caused by the heavy barrage it took in the Suriago Straits in the October 24th engagement durring the battle of Leyte Gulf. Practically vaporized I think, by a series of internal explosions. Must've been an awesome sight when it happened, too bad it probably wasn't caught on film.

Ah, the Fuso, it was a beutiful battleship, the best in the Imperial Japanese Navy, too bad the Americans pounded it into the ocean.
