As we all know, scamming is one of the major problems AJHQ has failed to solve for a while.
Animal Jam is meant to be a fun place where kids can just hang out and meet new friends, but scamming is tearing friendships apart and causing cold, greedy children to start popping up around Jamaa.
There are so many scammers we just can't regulate them all and return the millions of illegally obtained rares fairly like we could in the beta days when there weren't rares to worry about.
We've watched Animal Jam go downhill for too long, and it's getting kinda depressing to see all the heartless scamming going on.
Many nice jammers have left due to low tolerance of scammers, especially those who value friendship less than they do pixelated "rare items."
I do own some rares, but I realized I have no desire to get super rares like tiki masks because they aren't as fun to wear. I base my wardrobe on clothing that is especially nice looking on my animals. XD That is what clothing items should be: a way to decorate your animal, and not to show off how wealthy you are. For example, I favor my purple sandy cane socks over a rare long purple wrist spike someone traded me. When I have my eyes set on a rare item, it's because it is 112% snazzy. o3o
I've had to dress my animals with only store items in the past, and people still commented on how nice they thought I looked. *blushes* o//w//o <(me?)

If we got AJHQ to return all rare items, glitched items and beta items ever made to stores, there would be no reason to scam, and if someone was scammed, they could always independently get themselves a new one without relying on anything but the patience required to save money to buy it again. owo
No room in the current shops for more clothes? Just make a new shop! This one can be somewhere else in the world *COUGH COUGH add a new map area dedicated to stores to hold these returning items!*
With the rare, beta, and glitched items costing gems again, people will have more incentive to play the mini games scattered across Jamaa. Seriously. Those things are lonelyyy
Another type of item people scam is seasonal items, and I haven't though of a way to prevent that while keeping the celebratory privileged feels up during those holidays, but with all the other rares out of the way, AJHQ will have a much easier time regulating any other scammed items not covered by the 'bringing rares back into the shops' plan.
