I could have uploaded this sooner but I kept forgetting to scan the last 2 pages of sketches to add to it, which I did just yesterday cause it was a snow day xPSome more GoG concept sketches for my animation, others are just for fun ^^
Again, I shall explain them in order~
1) Jatt, Jutt, and their dead cousin, Ork, who was mentioned only once when Grimble was telling his story. Ork was the owl who snatched Bess; Grimble killed Ork, and since it impressed Skench and Spoorn, they made him a deal and he joined St.Aggies.
2) Grimble flying with Gylfie in his talons, flying next to a poorly drawn and scribbled out Jatt holding Soren in his talons.
3) Skench addressing the newly arrived orphans.
4) Skench in battle claws, and "A metallic needle extending from the tip of her beak". I wasn't really sure how to draw the needle, I kind of guessed. Opinions? And then her slamming into the wall full of flecks.
5) Grimble attacking Ork who is holding Bess in his talons.
6) The two olds on either side of Soren and Gylfie calling the alarm after Soren accidentally asked a question.
7) Grimble tricking Jatt into thinking Jutt is about cause a fight so that he, Soren, and Gylfie can get into the Library.
8) Skench digging her bare-claws into Grimble's belly.
9) Gylfie using big words and getting on Twi's nerves from the get-go xP
10) Twilights first appearance, calling down to Soren and Gylfie as she hangs upside down.
11) Soren being sent to the back row by a "Plump Barn Owl".
12) Unk gett'n realllyyy close to Gyflie so she'll call him by his preferred name.
13) 47-2 showing the new pellet-pickers what a fleck looks like.
14) Aunt Finny has collapsed after Soren mentions the legends of Ga'Hoole, and Hortense acting startled.
15) Jatt swoop'n in ta grab babeh Soren.
16) Crappy flapping sketches of Jatt doing hard strokes to get back into the air after grab'n bebeh Soren.
17) Gylfie with an Ice Splinter.
18) Gylfie holding a pellet tray.
19) An owl wearing Ice Goggles.
20) Two ugly Barred Owls thwack'n open a Barn Owl egg, with Soren being disgusted in the background.
21) Two ugly Barred Owl feeties pulling out a Barn Owl from its egg.
22) An Owl knocking down Gyflie because she laughed, which is not permitted.
23) An Eagle swooping down to take an egg back to Ambala that Hortense saved.
24) Gyflie watching Grimble die and telling Soren not to look back.
25) Some crappy Kludd helmet designs...still not satisfied.
26) Some Kludd + Nyra = Coryn designs, with an extra Ginger on the right.

These are awesome! I could tell what almost all of the scenes werew without reading the description. Great job with the different owl species, too. They're all unique. ^^

1) Ork has THREE arrows? What kind of super-Airbender does that make HIM?
2) If Grimble is as close to Ork as it looks like he is to me, he should be a lot smaller.
5) Same as 2
(Haha: 1, 2, 5...unintentional Monty Python joke xD)
6) I love the expression of the owl to Soren's left Cx
7 & 8) Same as 5 & 2, you get the idea
9) I never knew just saying "Big words" would impress people, I was led to believe that I actually had to come up with a lengthy lexeme to elicit awe from others. I was such a fool.
19) Those goggles look really big considering that owl's size xP
12) Unk's totally a child molester.
14) Aunt Finny really needs to look into that, fainting at the mere mention of an enemy organization can't be a sign of good health.
21) I'm not really sure if there's an angle on that picture or not, but the owlet's beak probably needs to be a little longer.
23.5) That's Soren in that scene where he was hiding in a crevice in the canyon wall, yeah? You didn't even label it. You were just expecting people to ignore it, is that it? Well it didn't work >:I
25) Yeah, I could never come up with an idea that satisfied me either, Well, actually I did, but--well, never mind. I can't explain it
What're those things to the right of the number 25? The top one looks sorta like a beak on a pendant and I have no idea what the bottom one resembles xD
26) In my opinion, Kludd needs to be as tall as Nyra, if not a little taller xP especially considering the first thing Simon thought when he realized Kludd was a Barn Owl was that he was "exceptionally large." Since Brown Fish Owls are around the same size as Barn Owls Simon could probably notice a size irregularity more easily than others, but still I got the impression that it was fairly noticeable that Kludd was larger than other males.
And Ginger's trying as hard as she can to stay on the paper but Nyroc with his completely innocent expression keeps pushing her out of the picture.
(I was the first one to start commenting on this, but I'm pretty sure this'll end up being the last comment since it took me much longer to write this than it should have xD)

Hah, those were the beginnings of other helmet designs that I quickly gave up on x3
26) Oh yeah, I wasn't really paying attention to sizes when I drew those, I was just jogging their designs down so I could look at them while drawing Coryn, try'n to combined them'n such. Kludd turned out looking like a bowling pin anyway.
But good advise either way, I'll have to remember that if I ever get so far as to start drawing Simon C: Or if I even feel like drawing him for the heck of it.

1) Well then Grimble's obviously a FIREBENDER >:I
2, 5, 7, 8) I've never seen one compared to any owl species that aren't similar in size, but a rough estimate will be the mid-to-large-sized ones would stand at around the height of an adult Barn Owl's "knee" joint (probably a little shorter or taller depending on how large the Barn Owl is.) They're only a little bigger than Saw-Whet Owls: [link]
25) I AM NO GOOD. I'll only be useful as a sacrifice to the Bunny Overlords
26) What was Ginger's story anyway? I forgot. I know she was rescued along with Eglantine in the Downing, but how did she find out about the Pure Ones' orders and their plan to use Eglantine? If she was one of the "offered" orphans like Eglantine, then she would have been brainwashed and wouldn't have remembered anything, but if she was the actual daughter of one of the Pure Ones, then it's unlikely that someone from St. Aggies would be able to get to her as easily as they did to the low-cast brainwashed owlets. And if that was the case, it seems like the Pure Ones would have made a much greater effort to actually retrieve her after she was stolen instead of just leaving her with the fallen orphans.

2, 5, 7, 8) Oh wow I didn't realize they were that small : 0 I knew they were very similar but I always pictured them bigger than that. This is really helpful, thank you!
25) They will reluctantly accept you as an offering. They will be unimpressed and dissatisfied but will compromise. This once.
26) If memory serves, she was a Pure One planted to look like a helpless brainwashed owlet so that she could infiltrate the Great Tree as a slipgizzle. After she was in the tree Nyra used her to trick Eglantine into thinking she was her mother through dreams and flecks. But its been a really long time since I read that part of the books, its kind of fuzzy.

2, 5, 7, 8) Just on a whim earlier today I collected a bunch of owl species size comparison pics from random people over the internet since I never remember to bring a camera to raptor shows and when I do the quality is really bad, I'll note them to you for reference.
25) Well, then it won't be my problem the next time. YOU'LL HAVE TO FIND A MORE WORTHY SACRIFICE IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM TO DROWN THE EARTH IN BERRY-FLAVORED SYRUP.
26) Thanks, leaving the fallen owlets and Ginger being part of the Pure Ones' plan to get a spy into the Guardian's base explains a lot of things xP
