Description “There you are,” Miles said as he helped Fiona sit in one of his black, padded leather chairs. He took the other facing her. She had started to gain her balance going up the stairs, but Miles wanted to be sure she didn’t fall again.

“So, where do you want me to begin?”

“First, what happened to you Tails?”

Well, I grew up. It’s been about 11 years since I met you on your island—oh, and please call me Miles.

“Miles—Miles, it sounds so manly and sophisticated.—what happened between now and then? The last thing I can remember is fighting you against my will, then watching you float away.”

"I left you. I didn’t know what I could do for you other then set you on that rock. After I went away I had many adventures, some on my own, some with the Freedom Fighters, my friends and a group dedicated to fighting Robotnik. I was told of my destiny as the Chosen One by the Ancient Walkers. Since then I've grown into my powers, powers involving Chaos Energy. We’re still looking for a way to permanently defeat Robotnik though. I’ll fill you in on the details later though.” He left out any mention of the original Fiona Fox’s betrayal though. He didn't want this Fiona to feel bad about it.

"As for you, I've been working for years to try and develop a way to bring you back, to free you from the tyranny of Robotnik which caused you so much pain. The culmination of that research was that machine you saw in the basement. Using the power of Chaos, it changed your body from a metallic one to an organic body. That’s why you feel so light; you have flesh now. Robotnik can’t bend your will now either because of that."

Fiona sat silently, absorbing all the new information, and the new sensations an organic body afforded.

Miles continued, “I increased your age to about my own, so that you wouldn't be left behind me, so we could be together again. As for the extra tail… I don’t know. Something went wrong with the machine and it just happened. I’m sorry.”

"No, it’s ok …Miles. I’m so happy that you brought me back to life—real life—again. If the price of that is to have an extra tail… it’s worth it." She looked him in the eyes—his blue eyes, slightly clouded with sadness that something had gone wrong, and concern for her, but with the brightness of joy and love shining through that fog—and blushed. "And it makes me more like you."

They both were silent for a few moments, neither sure what to say next. The awkwardness was broken though by a large yawn from Fiona.

“Oh, I’m sorry Miles, I’m feeling really tired for some reason.”

Miles took her hand, "It’s probably from the whole transformation process. You’re still getting used to your body, after all. I’ve got a bed upstairs that you can use. We can talk more later. Maybe I’ll figure out what went wrong."

“…That sounds good,” Fiona said, eyelids drooping. She stifled another yawn as she let Miles lead her upstairs to a bed.

Miles helped her lay down.

“If you need anything, I’ll be in the basement. Alright?”

“Yes, thank you Miles… for everything.”

Miles smiled at her and closed the door to the bedroom.

Fiona let her head fall onto the soft pillows.

Tails, it’s so, so good to see you again.

With that thought, she fell asleep.
