Description A Forerunner capitol ship and two smaller vessels destroy the population and technology of one of their own planets to prevent them from falling into the hands of the flood.

Thoe look moe like the Forerunner Ark, not Covenant. Also, whatever you went for in the description fits more to Covenant vs Human. Although, Forerunner /= Human, so... where's the Covenant?

I think I see what you were saying about the Human-Covenant war connection, however, this scene was meant to depict how the Forerunners were forced to adapt to the conditions of a war where your enemy doesn’t necessarily care about conquering territory or gaining material resources, but instead intends merely to consume all life it comes into contact with.
