This is fantastic! It has such an apocalyptic feel! Is that meant to be a church or old schoolhouse? I like interpreting it as the former--gives the painting an extra dark vibe with the gathering dust coming closer.

The inspiration behind this came from the Ken Burns documentary "The Dustbowl". They had plenty of images of these huge dark clouds dwarfing these peaceful looking farms and villages I can only imagine how terrifying that must have felt waiting to get swallowed by it. The scene Im presenting here is imagined, though inspired by googling images of the dustbowl. I couldn't tell you what the buildings are, I thought it was a farm so I went with that!
