Description One of my lovely epizodes from "The Stormchaser". I drew it for the contest on Bewd's community. Instruments - watercolour pencils, but I edited picture in Photoshop to draw some stars.

The only assotiation with this moment is:
"Deep in my soul
Love so strong
It takes control

Now we both know
The secrets bared
The feelings show

Driven far apart
I'll make a wish
On a shooting star

There will come a day
Somewhere far away
In your arms I'll stay
My only love

Even though you're gone
Love will still live on
The feeling is so strong
My only love

You've reached the deepest part
Of the secret in my heart
I've know it from the start
My only love
My only love"
(Song from "Sailormoon" NA version)

When Cloudy gets it up! XD.. Or finished. Six chapters, going on seven. I don't know if everybody would understand our characters: Minet, Rell, and Lidius are in it.

Yes, I want to kill Twig too. Skyfiring's too clean, but feeding him face-first to a bloodoak (removing the hammelhornskin first, of course) might poison the poor tree. Maugin's much better than Sinew anyway.

Oh yeah, the eighth book, next in line in Britain, is about Quint, isn't it? I wonder if we'll get to see them meet Maugin. I would die.

[I suppose I should warn my fellow Americans that haven't cheated: Spoiler follows]

What is with the Verginix men? Well, two generations specifically. I know a few men who think that they're 'God's gift to women' or whatever. Twig and Quint must be the Edge's curse to women.
First Maris.
Then Sinew dies after childbirth...
And Maugin, stranded on Riverrise for the rest of her life? We know Riverrise water has healing properties.. Would it be like the Twilight Woods there, where you can't die?

Yea. That would suck. I sure hope not. it bothers Maugin enough that she couldn't turn termagent (sp?).
Poor baby.
I don't know...you'd probably want to shoot me....but I adore Twig LOL

We'll never see Maugin in "The Winter Knights"! *Xanth whimpers*
The author's spoiler of "Knights" is on the official fan-club. It will about... *Xanth shuts up* No spoilers again!
About new fan-created characters. Did you see Mai-Moriss's portrait? ([link] ) She's fan-created character too. No idea about others, but I love the alternative realities and new characters!

No Maugin? *pouts* Yeah, I saw Mai's picture. Awesome! Barkslug wants to know if she's related to Mag in any way. We love fan-created characters muchly, too. Especially for bishounen, becuase Paul Stewart can't kill them that way! Or make them extremely old/disappear forever.. Etc.

We're trying to draw some decent portraits of our characters to stick up... On that subject..

Oh, and I lost a bet. >.< Now I have to draw three female characters.. um.. a la lingerie. Yeah, that's a nice way of putting it.. I have to do Minet, Rell, and then Barkslug made me put Maugin in instead of Lidius. *shrugs* I'll try to get it up soon for you! XD

XanthFilatine In reply to Cloudgardien [2005-07-11 16:43:59 +0000 UTC]

No, she's not related to Mag. ^_^ But she is a termagant trog (of course). I'm a little obsessed by orange-haired trogs, ^_~. Mai is a daughter and "legatee" of one of the chroniclers. Yes, in our story termagant trogs have a written language, but their chronicles look like a comics (^__^), because they don't write, but DRAW their story. And all their tatoo are the "words" too - the good spells of luck, force etc. Why? They seems to us the most "civilized" ones between the Deep Woods trogs. They don't have ennemies and natural cataclysmes, they have towns and they know agriculture (agriculture of roots, of course, ^_^). They have all the prerequisites for create the highly developed civilisation! ^____^

Termagant trogs are awesome. But I like them non-termagant best. In the first book, Mumsie scared me!

Hm, you're right about trogs having potential to be highly civilized. I never thought about that.. Learn something new every day, I suppose.

My brother, age 11, peeking over my shoulder, just informed me that he agrees with you: orange-haired women are cute. -.-' I hate siblings. My worldview shall be altered.

I have younger brother too, but we don't have any war. ^_^, I'm his commander, he's my soldier. I explained him theory of tactics and strategy, and war story too, like our father told me (my brother was very young when father died). I try to be good educator for him, but we have the same problem - we both hate to keep order in our room. He hate more that me! Now I live in my friend's house, and Ivan transformed our old room into a real pigsty! I want his head at times... ^_____^

Your father died? I'm sorry...

Yes, my brother has an instinctual grasp of strategical things. We both do; I think it's all those violent video games. But we learn from each other when it comes to that sort of thing. He's better at commanding larger groups; I like small stealthy things. ^-^

Actually, I inherited this little thing from my mom recently.. If I'm in a bad mood I have to clean my room before I can allow myself to brood. Mirror mirror on the wall, I have become my mother, after all. *shudder*

I just went to an expensive Italian place and stuffed myself. I don't even want to think about food.. Ah, no! But I suppose I can.

I make soup when I'm in a bad mood, though, because there's never any chocolate around the house. (Chocolate would be my first choice, of course!) No, please, no pizza for me. We live by this pizza joint and that's aaaaaalllll my parents ever order for takeout dinner. It's Pizza Hut. I hate Pizza Hut. Icky. Ickyickyicky.

WOW! I, too, love that scene, and you have re-enacted it very well. The shading's beautiful, and there's a real sense of togetherness between Twig and Maugin.

ZOMGZOMGZOMG! *spazzes repeatedly* I need to start a Maugin Fanring! XD

This one of the best pix I've seen. Ever. Nice Russian, btw. Seriously, though, Xanth.. It's been bugging me. HOW OLD ARE YOU ANYWAY?

You know, have you seen Barkslug's conspiracy theory? That gives that picture a whole buncha meaning. Yet another question: How many of you support a Twig/Maugin pairing? FOr those you who've read Freeglader, Sinew just came out of nowhere. (Barkslug cheated and ordered it from Britain. I promptly borrowed it.) I wrote a fic about that. That being a Twig/Maugin pairing, of course. I'm debating whether to post what I have... I should. ^-^ It's only about half-done, tho.

XanthFilatine In reply to Cloudgardien [2005-07-09 13:51:45 +0000 UTC]

Thank you, Cloudgardien.
Hey, a Maugin Fan-ring is a nice idea! I like it! But I'm not sure that Twig loved Maugin... Seems, it was Maugin's "one-way ticket", typical secret love. Probably, she loved Quint (in spite of the fact that he was married), and she found his type in his son... Who knows? But I didn't find any argument of Twig's love. Maugin was for him ONE OF his team. And not more... I wish to kill him therefor! Cruelly!
P.S. Ahem... And when we'll read your fic, Cloudy? ^_____^

XanthFilatine In reply to kemu [2005-07-01 21:14:09 +0000 UTC]

For create the classic cross-hatching you need only to place the strokes at an angle of 15 degree maximum. It's easy as a pie, isn't it? ^_~

XanthFilatine In reply to Lizzzard [2005-06-28 18:54:22 +0000 UTC]

No any texture. It's Whatman paper and watercolour pencils. I made only stars on the computer because it's more good that make them by erazer or white ink.
