My teacher read that last semester, and this image of Frodo watching Sam, Rosie, and little Elanor, with the knowledge that he must leave them, yet content because he sees how happy Sam is has been plauging me ever since.

I am, seriously, not pleased with the way this came out. This was supposed to be my "big thing" for my portfolio. It barely matches my original idea at all. For one, there's too much green (base was a dark gold), for another, there are hills in the background (Bagend was on the only hill in Hobbitton), and then...
...there's the bloody faces. I've never done people in acrylic, except for the Pippin portrait, and that was a close up. This was...just not fun. If it would have been a bigger canvas, it might have looked better.

Okay, enough griping. I'm pleased that I finally got the bloody thing on paper. There's a lot wronge with it, mostly because of my poor execution of acrylic techniques. But I like the idea. Maybe one day, I'll re-do this and go for the feel I was aiming for.
