Commissioned portraitI'm very glad I could draw this portrait for a college of mine. The beautiful girl is his grand daughter.
This one took a bit more time than usual. Especially the hair was quite a bit of work. Front lighting without much shadows was also an extra challenge. But I very much like how it turned out.
Material: a bit more creme paper due to request for champagn frame...
Charchoal / graphite / paint for the pure white...
Time: +/- 15 hours
Size: A4
I tried HDR for photographing the drawing and it turned out quite well. This image is the best I could get trying to replicate the actual drawing. So no pure white, no pure black... just as is

I do have a question though, what kind of paint did you use for the white areas? I've always struggled with pure white highlights in my drawings.

Thanks!! I have one tube of the brightest and most opaque gouache. I use this with a toothpick for the most bright highlights (usually the eyes and some sparkles on wet lips). Gouache even sticks to graphite... does take some time to dry however
