Apart from the wonderful composition, the immaculate tones, that dreamy long exposure and perfect use of the square crop, what actually grabbed me about this image was that it reminded me of an image I saw a couple of years ago on the cover of Practical Photography magazine. It was only this evening that I realised that it IS the same image and YOU are that photographer, LOL. Its late maybe to say congratulations, but hey, its a great achievement and well done.
...truly breathtaking xavier.

Simply awesome.
The soft water surface combined with the even sky and the mountains in the background is creating a perfect surrounding for the line of poles as the main image element. The soft reflection of the poles and the vignetting on the top and bottom edge complete the awesome impression of the total image. Oh, and before I forget, beeing black and white is important for the total experience, too.
You simply have to lean back and enjoy the image in all it's details. Doing this for some time, leads to the recognition that all the poles, although looking similar at the first glance, are really different to each other.
Some are totally different, which you can also note in the reflections. But the small nuances of the other can only be seen on the pole itself, not in the reflection.
In conclusion, simply awesome photo. Looking really balanced while revealing more and more details when looked at longer and longer.

great contrast of light and dark and also the contrast of the sharpness of the posts and the fuzziness of their reflection. faved.

This has a tremendous graphic quality, and a great lead-in line. I like the way that the darkness in the bottom-right follows the line of posts.

Très belle photo!
Je me demandais comment fait-on pour donner cette impression que l'eau est de la fumΓ©e? Suffit-il de jouer sur l'exposition?
