Description Experiment:
Step 1 - Digitally shoot one of the most beautiful woman on Earth (Luisa Andreea )
Step 2 - Edit the image in Photoshop and make it black and white
Step 3 - Store it on hard-disk and let it age for a few years (at least 4 years)
Step 4 - Admire it from time to time (mandatory!)
Step 5 - Start hating photography (especially digital Photoshoped portrait "photography")
Step 6 - One day decide you need to explore new ways of visual expression
Step 7 - Pick a star from the web
Step 8 - Convert the aged image into text containing only the star character
Step 9 - Export the text file to PDF
Step 10 - Open the PDF file in Photoshop and invert it to negative
Step 11 - Print the negative on an A4 paper
Step 12 - Scan the printed A4 paper
Step 13 - Open scanned image in Photoshop and invert it back to positive (13 is not unlucky - it is a positive number)
Step 14 - Export result to web and post it!

"Digital.Analog.Digital.Analog" (DADA)

A littel touch of optic art "a la Vasarely" , I really love it !

Is it a conversion or a little breath ?

Hey! This is a new style I'm exploring and evolving.

This image is built up using an Image 2 ASCII converter algorithm - basically image gets resized to the desired number of characters per row and each character gets the color of the corresponding pixel. I've set the background to black, as I've felt that's the dominant background and in the end resulted a text document with color associated to each character. I've printed the inverted (negative) of the document on an A4 matte paper. I've scanned it back with the scanner I'm using for my film photography and inverted again. I love the result.

This is an experiment because my intention is to print the negative enlarged, shoot the print using my film camera and because the film captures the negative I will actually have a positive on the film. Use the positive as a diapositive slide and build a projector for it. I'm actually considering hijacking building illumination systems and build projectors to fit on top of such lights ...

Anyway ... style & concept under development ...

Update: Forgot to mention, I'm exploring the transformation of image by passing it through digital & analogue mediums. In this case the image was shot using a digital camera, hence it was stored in bits, digitally edited using Photoshop, more bits, converted to text - this is a cross-over between a digital representation and an analog one - I consider characters to be a form of analog representation of text. Printing enforced the analog representation of the image. Scanning made it digital again.

As I said I'm still playing with this idea - there's more information added to the image at the cross-over step. etc ...
