Fic set before C.R.I.M.E.

After the Delightful Children finished their birthday cake up in space, they returned to Earth and went inside the fish-shaped ship. But then Lenny and David stopped walking with them.

"Lenny, David, why did you stop?" asked Ashley, Bruce and Constance.

"We were remembering...that time the police took us away. It was frightening." The children didn't shiver like when Father got mad. Rather they stood there, rather numbly.

"We are sorry that memory still troubles you," said Ashley, Bruce and Constance. "Perhaps we could make the police pay for troubling you so, David and Lenny."

"No, that would not do, Bruce, Ashley and Constance.........................................." They paused for a long time, as if saying their names in that certain order jogged a distant memory..of when they were un-Delightful, of when they were K-------ds N----xt D----r Sect------r-------.

But it passed.

"Well? Were you going to say more, Lenny and David?"

"We do not want to get Father or us in more trouble. Then Father will not be able to make as delightful a birthday cake for us."

"It was on the small side this time.." remarked Lenny.

"But it tasted delicious..And we had it all to ourselves this time..." said David.

"But did you see that outfit he got..for the five of us? It was far too small," said Constance and Ashley, referring to the sailor suit for $24.99.

"Are you suggesting that we do nothing to assuage our pain?" asked Lenny and David. "We sustained a great deal of mental and physical injury while in jail. Father brought us out of that place but he cannot bandage our wounds or provide psychiatric therapy to us. Still, I want to express my distress...to share.."

"Your pain with otherrrrs?" asked Ashley, Constance, and Bruce. sinisterly.

"Yeeees."

Ashley put her fingers together, calculating, strategizing.

"Then we will keep it small-scale. We will have the School Safety Patrol..arrest the whole school. Will that make you feel better, Lenny and David?"

"Yes, Ashley."

"Good. Please rejoin us now so we can take in breakfast."

Lenny and David rejoined the formation, and the Delightful Children started laughing in anticipation of their evil plan.
