About:Undyne was surrendered to Gerson as a toddler. Her biological parents could no longer afford to take care of her and wanted to give her a better chance at life, so Gerson gladly took on that challenge. Later on, Gerson realized the potential Undyne had with her bright, fighting spirit accompanied with their trait of patience and sense of confidence. Gerson went on to teach her most of what he knew during his days as guard captain, in hopes Undyne could achieve the same, before sending her away to the capitol. From then on, Undyne was raised to be a loyal member of the Royal Guard as she trained amongst her ranks (including Papyrus). Through their relationships, Undyne would go on to make friendships with Papyrus and Asriel- and later down the road, meet Alphys. After all her hard work, Asgore awards her the title of Captain of the Royal Guard and protector of the monster monarchy. At the highest of all the ranks, she earns more interaction between herself and Alphys as the two love birds discuss all things interesting between them to further seal their bond. Throughout Undyne’s journey, she struggles most to balance her physical demands with limitations of the trait she is given at birth- and it’s only later on she is taught why and how.
