These 100% Spoiler Free Artist's Comments are Brought to You By XCgirl08So I sez to myself, I sez, "Jules, instead of bemoaning the lack of Matsumoto-centric art..." (as opposed to Matsumoto's Asset's-centric art. Lots of those around.) "...why not draw some yourself?"
And thus, this was created.
The pose wasn't all that hard, although the proportions seem a bit wonky now that I look at the preview. Foreshortening on her left arm is bad, I think...
I had also originally planned to have the blade dissolving into ash, but ended up scrapping that version because it didn't mesh well with the clean-and-simple effect I was going for.
But anyway, I like her. She's a light, goofy sort of woman with an iron core of strength and loyalty to her midget of a captain.

EDIT: Changed my mind and went with the ashes after all. Fills up the space better, at least.

OMG I swear if Kubo kills her--- I like the pose, and the way she carries her fighting mode attitude in contrast to her usually carefree self.

And she usually wears her lieutenant's badge at her waist, so I wasn't sure if it would fit in there...maybe I could edit in a corner or something? Hmm.
