You sat in class, listening to Yukio go on and on about being an exorcist or some shit like that. Your gaze slowly went towards Rin, who, like you, didn’t really give a rat’s ass about this lesson.
You’ve had a crush on the boy ever since he joined the academy, but when Yukio, your best guy friend, told you it was his brother, you told yourself that you, quote “Will not ask that sexy man beast out.”
It was a very difficult task since he was your type, and he was funny, …and cute.
Wait. NO. BRAIN DOES NOT COMPUTE. I WILL NOT GIVE IN DAMMIT!
You then felt all eyes on you. Realization hit you like a truck. You just said that last sentence out loud.

“[Name]. Care to explain why you interrupted class… again.” Yukio ask. The irritation in his voice was clear.
God, you flood the classroom once and your set for life.
You decided to play the dumb card.
“Ahem. I have no idea what you’re talking about Yu- I mean Okumura-sempai.”
Cue eye twitch.
“So you just yell out during class without noticing?”
“Pretty much.” It wasn’t really a lie. You honestly didn’t know you yelled that out.
Yukio sighed. “It looks like you’ll be joining Rin for detention today, [Name].”
You gasped and then chocked on the air that rushed into your mouth. You could barley keep yourself together when you were around Rin with other people. How were you going to hold up with just being in a room with him… alone… where no one could here you… for hours?
-1 hour later, In Detention-
Must resist urge to jump Rin. Must resist urge to jump Rin.
You continued to say this sentence. It was almost like a chant. You refused to pounce on him like a crazed fangirl.
Realizing that just sitting there wouldn’t accomplish anything, you made the conclusion that you should start small talk.
“So what are ya’ in here for.” You said
Rin turned towards you and frowned
.“I kinda got in a fight with Shima before class.”
“Eh? For what?”
Rin blushed. You cocked your head to the side and the raised an eyebrow.
“Err... Well it’s nothing really.”
“Clearly it’s something if that’s the reaction you’re givin’ me.”
You scooted out of your chair and strolled over to Rin, taking a seat right next to him.
“Spill.”
Rin gulped and looked away.
“Well… He was saying that… that you liked him more than me and it kinda pissed me off so I punched him and Yukio so happened to walk into the room.”
You sat there, eyes wide. Rin got mad because he thought you liked someone more than him?
Your cheeks flushed and you looked down, suddenly very nervous.
“So… um you got jealous?”
Rin glanced up at you.
“Does that mean you like him more than me?”
“What?”
“It would only be jealousy if you liked him, so do you.”
Your blush got darker. Was he seriously asking this? You knew you wouldn’t be rejected, honestly you could tell he liked you back, but you were still scared for some reason.
“Forget it, I’m leaving.”
Rin got up from his chair and started walking towards the door. You quickly got up and rushed up to him, hugging him from behind.
“W-wait. I don’t like Shima more than you. Jesus I can’t be within two feet of the guy without drop kicking him! I love you Rin and only you!”
Rin turned around and smiled.
“Really [Name].”
You nodded, smiling as well.
Rin slowly started to lean down. He was almost to your lips when-
“When I say detention I mean detention, back in your seats you two.”
You both groaned and looked up to see Yukio. An amused and irritated look was on his face.
You sighed and walked to your seat, Rin strolling behind. You glanced up to see Yukio smiling at you.
You smiled back, instantly knowing that he planned this whole thing. He truly was a best friend.
