Well...
I stippled them really fast
I didn't even really stipple every single one of them.
I got tired and copied a group of them and pasted until the whole shirt was covered xD
maybe 15-20 minutes on just those dots?

The dots were the easiest thing about it xD
His necklace did take an extended amount of time.
That, and his hair. >.<;
If I had done every single shiny dot by myself, then it probably would have taken me so much longer @.@
But I can sympathize with you on the shiny parts.
I love making things shiny, but they take such a long time to do x.x

Oh my god, it takes me dayyyys to draw everything. Weeks. And I'm lazy, so I end up spending months on my drawings xDDD
Oh the hair >_< I love drawing it, but it's dkjfgh D: so hard.
The shiny parts of the other Ruki I drew were a total nightmare! I spent more time on them than on the hair >___>

Actually, I had started this one last year.
I didn't work on it for moooooooonths @.@
but it only took a few days to finish it, I made myself work on it until I fell asleep xD
Though occasionally I would get distracted by the messenger... or youtube... or itunes... XD
I still have other drawings that are taking me forever to finish too, because I'm so lazy
and I am really bad at procrastinating... xD ;;;;

I draw on paper too, it's a lot more time consuming than when I draw with my tablet D:

Hahah, know the feeling, Ruki was supposed to be finished within February. Nope. 5 months later. XD
But the previous one..aaargh, I slept for 3-4 hours a day to finish it. During school, I was like a half-dead zombie hahah XD
And of course Youtube and FB, eternal enemies xD
Uhm I've never really tried digital drawing xD I guess you don't have the problem when the paper gets dirty (damned the 7B pencil!) and you can't. erase. it. ARGHH xD
I just started using the eraser as a drawing tool XD

I loved using the kneaded eraser as a drawing tool ^^
I know how you feel about not being able to erase, or when you drop something on your paper
Especially when you drop food on your paper DXX
It is really worth it! ^^

Yeah, it's awesome that you can always do or use something new! At first I only used penicl from 2B to 3H (I rarely use the H ones though, they cut the paper >_>)..then I was enlightened by the 8B pencil! XD

Hahah yeah they do, it's so annoying! The drawings then don't look the way they should or the wy you want them to and you get in a killer mood. D:< The first scan is usually way too bright and you can see every single move you made on the dark parts. It's awful XD

Oh... layers are a little hard to explain
But, in sai, I have my layers and navigation on the right-hand side of my screen.
When you create a new layer, it's a bit like a clean slate over whatever you've drawn previously.
You can erase whatever mistake you made without messing up what you've drawn on the layer below or over it.
It's actually very handy!
But when you draw all on one layer, it mixes and blends your colors/paint strokes.
I liked how it turned out (usually I make a new layer for everything... clothes, skin, eyes, lips, hair, etc.etc.)

It took me a few months when I first started to find it XD
But to change which side you want your navigation/colors, you go to the top of the program.
Click on "Window (w)"
Towards the bottom of the drop down window, there should be 2 options that read:
"Layers panel on the right (L)" and "Color and tool panel on the right (T)"
just click which one you want on whatever side ^^
