Description
A scene in my roleplay ( thepackroleplay.weebly.com/ ) where two males fight for dominance. Well, the red one, which is mine-- Ram-- has attitude problems and is the one picking the fight, as you can probably tell lol Solex, which is not mine (though am ghosting) is a dominant male not ready to be pushed by someone who throws their weight around. He's more on defence but just as aggressive about it all.

     Solex cocked his head by slight and gave a sort of inquisitive look.
     "'Why' what?" He remained standing tall and watched Ram finish his scratching. His glance in return was a sort of unimpressed scowl, almost as if Ram thought the black male to be dull. Ram's head was still down but as he repeated his "question", it rose so that his eyes had to peer right passed his nose to view Solex.
     "Why?" Ram appeared to size up his competitor as he waited for an answer. Solex, on the other hand, backed up on his haunches and furrowed his brow a tad.
     "It was only a gesture. We" Solex flicked his head toward his comrades. "are heading to the outskirts to look for more water." He began to turn and trot toward the females. His ears were back more-so to listen for Ram while he only turned his head to view him from the corner of his eye. "You're welcome to join us if you want to . . . " Well not completely welcome. The black wolf looked ahead and began to pad away, not wanting anything more to do with Ram. His tail was bent at the base and held outright a tad; His face bore an unfriendly countenance. Ram, however, was irritated, now. His hackles rose and his head followed Solex. He could feel the negative vibe from Solex and was angry that he was so dismissive about Ram. He didn't even feel threatened enough to keep a full eye on him. As Solex passed Ram, the bronze male snarled and bit Solex's tail. It was a quick snap and Ram let go as Solex veered away. It was surprising, even for Ram. It was an outburst of frustration-- one he almost wished he could take back, though his anger fueled him on.
     Solex yelped in surprise but growled when he realized what Ram had done. He almost turned back to bite him but by then, Ram had hopped away a wolf-length or two. Solex's tail hid close to his haunches, only to keep it from fangs again, but the rest of his body was tense and aggressive, covered in bristling fur. His ears shot forward and so did Ram's, and both snarled at each other. Though Ram's tail was risen higher, his demeanor was not as aggressive as Solex's. In fact, a bit more unsure of what might happen while Solex knew he was ready for a fight. When he saw Ram was not going to pursue, Solex stepped closer toward him.
     Meanwhile, the two females were shocked and half-standing in alarm, unsure whether to aid Solex or remain at place. Both of their ears were to the side while their tails were half tucked. They didn't move, however, and watched as Solex stepped closer. He was definitely capable of fighting his own battles.
     Solex was so upset that he couldn't quite speak. Although, he really did not care what Ram's motive might be. Solex knew the wolf had an issue with him and he knew that he just bit him. That was enough for Solex and he was done with Ram. He stepped a bit closer, and a bit closer, still, testing him. Ram held his ground but slightly shrunk back with each step. Solex stopped about four feet of Ram, where tension seemed to be the highest. They both looked into each other's eyes, challengingly. They remained still, tails twitching in aggressive anticipation, for a moment. Ram couldn't stand it anymore. He was tired with being so ignored, so unimportant. the only way to be recognize, he thought, was to gain power, was to fight, was to be feared. He believed it would actually make him happy.
     Solex felt that he was not about to stand by and let another male toss his weight around. At least, not if he had no bite to his bark. Nips and bared teeth meant nothing, and constant competition with him just irritated Solex. It was time to finish the headbutting, and unfortunately, Ram was not willing to do that without being forced to the ground.
     In a split second, Ram kicked off the rocky earth with his hind legs, lunging toward Solex. Almost as if it was slow motion, Solex saw Ram move and lunged forward, himself. Both males crashed into each other with bared fangs and aggressive, ferocious growls from deep within the throat. Their collision seemed like an explosion! For a moment, Ram was on top, pushing Solex back with his weight. Both contenders' tails were outright, ears were forward, and hackles raised to full height. Solex seemed to be holding out, doing his best not to crash to the ground. The males pushed against each other, bit loose fur, and scraped the bodies with their dull claws as they searched for a good grip. They both danced around on their hind legs, Solex hopping back, trying to gain better footing. Lucky for him, he was able to hop back far enough to allow him some room to whip around and dodge Ram as he attempted to fall on him. Solex turned and bit the scruff on Ram while Ram tried to do the same. As Ram twisted, he broke free from Solex's bite and scurried off a few feet. Solex was right behind him, however, and Ram turned to lunge at him once more. The two crashed again, but this time, Solex had gained the upper hand.

On the artistic note, the background is very much exaggerated, what with the lighting and closed-in canyon feel; I wanted something more dramatic. Ram's position was easiest, too, and the fur just happened lol Solex was a bit harder, I tried out three different wolf stock images before I finally found something to work. And the exaggerated background, I just threw it, together. I am really happy with how it all turned out, though
