Alubedox had been enjoy summer camp so much with Rubalas. He was really happy to finally have a sibling to spend time with!
But... the joys of youth are always short lived. He's initially excited to show off his new 'thumb' to his mom, as he'd seen some other wynglings around the Nook with such. But... as he stands taller than his mom, and he also has 'thumbs' on his feet, the truth becomes evident. He's growing up. Like it or not, he was swiftly on the way to adulthood.
Turns out he inherited both his father's bipedal form and early bloomer tendency. Soon, his third finger would fully grow in, he wouldn't be able to walk on all fours at all. No more rides on Lyric's back, cuddling with his mom on the couch would be nearly impossible...
And no more enjoying brotherly time with Rubalas. Competitions weren't really fair when you had more height, strength, even access to magic-- even cooperative things would feel weird if they weren't pulling equal weight. Rubalas was always the leader, you gotta be the best to be the leader... the biggest, loudest, strongest. Maybe--maybe Rubalas would grow up soon, too. But his mother took very long before her growth spurt finally hit, Rubalas was about half his age... so he wasn't counting on it.

"I'm going for a walk," Alubedox softly mutters as he pulls from Lyric's reassuring hold on him.
"It's a bit late but-- try to be back before dark, alright, honey? I love you."
"Love you too, mom..."
