Okay this requires some backstory. When I first created Xela, my intention was to make him an otter, however my love of Tails' story in Sonic Adventure led me to basically make him a Tails clone. Whilst nobody has ever claimed to me that Xela is a Tails recolor, I have noticed many people have thought he's a fox, and whilst that is partly true (Xela being an otter/fox half breed) it has started to bug me because the inspiration for Xela was OTTERS moreso than Tails. Therefore I decided to try redesigning Xela and make him more otter-like (actually, flat out turn him into an otter) and this is the result. Even though it isn't as timeless as Xela's old design (it being 10 years old) I think I like this version of Xela as much as the older design for him. So I'd like to ask all who view this picture, do you like this new Xela or do you prefer the old design?
