Fluffy, brown cat ears twitch as a tail lays low while swaying back and forth. Blue eyes blink open as a small sneeze comes from the young neko. Skylar Wise is sixteen years old and not like other girls. She was born half human and half cat, in lighter terms she was a neko. A rare and unique species that lived deep in the woods. Standing up from her bed, the pale girl yawned, showing her sharp canines. Stretching for a minute as her ears flattened against her skill, the brunette smiled.

But her smile faded as she felt her stomach tighten. Shaking her head, her smile returned as she got ready for the day. "Hey Skylar, you take forever to get ready" Victoria, a raven haired neko, said.

"Well sorry, I over slept" Skylar said.

"Doesn't matter, just as long as you're here" Violet, a brown haired neko that was missing a chunk out of one of her cat ears, said. Skylar smiled at her two friends, before her stomach knotted up again. Her ears twitched as she heard hurried footsteps.

"Hey, you okay?" Victoria asked.

"Yeah...just got a bad feeling about today" Skylar mumbled, closing her blue eyes for a minute.

"Well, let's walk around the village. Maybe that will ease your mind" Violet suggested.

"Yeah, maybe" Skylar said. Due to being different from the humans, nekos created a small village of their own away from everyone. As the three girls walked through the small village, they waved at the residents they passed by. But that bad feeling Skylar got never went away. Stomach twisting painfully and bile rising in the young neko's throat. She feared for the worst before her tail fluffed up as a gun shot was heard.

"HUMANS!" A man screamed, causing all the nekos to scatter.

"Quickly, protect the women and children!" Another male ordered, as everyone tried to find a place to hide.

"H-humans!" Violet exclaimed, her messed up cat ear throbbing lightly at a memory.

"Quickly, we have to hide!" Victoria exclaimed, like the others, the girls quickly started to scatter. Skylar looked for a place to hide, but with everyone running and screaming. It was hard to concentrate. Without realizing it, she had ended up too close to the edge of the village. Skylar yelped as she felt hands grab her and before long she felt something strike the back of her head. Soon the brunette was seeing nothing but black.

"Hm" Skylar moaned as she started to stir. The ears on her head twitched as she could hear the sound of people talking, but was still to out of it to know what they were saying. Shaking her head, she started to drift off back to sleep...

"Wake up!" A smooth male's voice said as cold water was splashed onto Skylar. The brunette's blue eyes shot open wide as a low growl edmitted from her throat. Shaking her head and letting her drenched, chocolate colored locks fly everywhere. Skylar narrowed her eyes at a raven haired man with blue eyes. He had a smug look on his face and an empty bucket that once held water, in his hand.

Skylar hissed as she backed up in the cage she was in, as her ears flattened themselves against her skull. Shivering lightly as a cool breeze blew by, she felt uncomfortable in her drenched clothes. The raven haired boy smirked more as he saw this. "What? Is the little kitten scared?" He asked.

"Where am I? Who are you?" Skylar growled.

"The name's Jack, and as for where you are, well I can't exactly tell you" Jack said.

"What do you mean by that?! Tell me where I am right now!" Skylar demanded, bearing her teeth.

"Well your in a cage" Jack said, smirking as the brunette grinded her teeth.

"Don't use that tone with me or I'll rip your tongue out!" Skylar growled.

"Alright, no need to get violent. You're still in the forest, but soon you'll be at the auction house to be sold off" Jack said. Skylar froze as she heard those words. She had heard stories about what happens to her kind when they're sold off to a human.

"No! You can't do this, I have family and friends!" Skylar cried out, causing the raven haired boy's smirk to falter.

"S-so, that's what you all say! You think I care? Because I don't!" Jack exclaimed, looking away from the brunette. He's hand twitched as Skylar noticed a set of keys attached to his side.

"P-please! I'm begging you!" Skylar cried. "I'm still part human! This is wrong on so many levels!" She exclaimed.

"I-If you're trying to make me feel guilty its not working!" Jack snapped. Skylar bit her lip, looking at her surroundings, she saw a few tranquilizer guns and backpacks lying around.
'Where are the others?' She thought to herself.

"If you're wondering where everyone else is. They're out trying to catch more of your species" Jack said.

"Please, I'm begging you, let me go" Skylar whimpered. Tears welling up in her eyes as her tail dropped limply to the ground. Her ears were flat against her head as she looked about ready to cry. Jack bit his lip, a wrenched feeling eating him from the inside and out. That smug dimer he had earlier was now gone.

"I know I'm going to regret this" Jack mumbled, as he took the keys from his side and unlocked the cage. The large metal door creaked open as Skylar's eyes brighten. "Go on, get, but this is the only time I'm doing this" the raven haired boy said.

"Thank you" Skylar whispered as she got out of the cage and hugged the older male.

"Whatever" Jack mumbled, blushing. He soon smiled as he watched the brown haired neko scurry off back towards her village. Taking a deep breath, two cat ears popped up and a bent cat tail fell from underneath his shirt. "I'm in so much trouble when they get back. But it was worth it to keep another one from the same fate as I" he said, as he closed his eyes and smiled.
