Description Fooled you. It's my OC Viktor. Pretty much what would happen if Russia and Korea had a baby. His full name will be revealed later but he is mine Don't steal or I'll chop off your dick.

This is the first time I used watercolor pencils! I found my old prismacolor watercolor pencils I got from my art teacher a long time ago and I finally got to use them. Please tell me if it looks like I'm doing something wrong. I mixed them with dry normal colored pencils too. Took about 2 days.

argh scanners made the orange too bright!!

I like the orange though- I think it fits nicely!
I have some watercolor pencils (not prismacolor...and I only have blue, red, orange, yellow, green, purple, brown, and black) somewhere...I've used them once, in this pic-[link] (this wasn't scanned, so it looks even worse) - and have not used them since because I suck at using em.
Why is everyone so much better at first-use pictures than I am? DX

This is awesome, as usual.

I really like that pic, especially the moss. It can be hard sometimes making details with this medium.

It was really awkward at first too! I loved it though. It was so easy to apply and mix colors and my main
probably with full watercolor (from the tube) is that the hard part for me is always applying them and then running out of paint and then it looks really faint. With the ones I have it actually lets you layer the color
s with is really cool. I like having control in my art and it makes me less apprehensive when I color.

What's difficult about them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

razrroth In reply to xenaferetek [2012-01-06 00:40:55 +0000 UTC]

I dunno...I just....don't know what to do with them...technique-wise. All I know is that I can...sort of water the lead down to make super-bold marks (it's how I made that moss~) or scribble a little on the paper, lightly, and put water on it, but the pencil still shows, so...I don't like how that looks. Other than that, I don't really know the 'proper' technique on how to use them, I suppose...

I like putting pencil textures in my drawings so it kinda works for me but it depends on preference I suppose.

I like traditional textures in other people's works, but I just never find a place for it in my stuff. It never looks right to me....I just can't seem to pull it off... ;3;

Could you elaborate?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

razrroth In reply to xenaferetek [2012-01-06 01:08:59 +0000 UTC]

...I don't how to elaborate on it... XD
Pencil textures are pretty, but when I draw/color, I like to have everything inked perfectly and have a smooooth color lay-down (prismacolor pencils~). I just don't like the paper-texture in my drawings for some reason. o-o

That's understandable. Some people just like certain art styles. For digital painting I really
like smooth laydown but for traditional art I love texture.
