Description Based on the RP that we three have together; me, ~Elks0ng and *Demorta .
This is the character set, of all the main characters each of us use.

From left to right:
D, the vampire hunter.
Ra, in human form.
Lee, a big stone demon.
Vex, in human form.
Drago, a half fire demon.
Lie, a stone demon, in human form.
Jason Blood, with his demon Etrigan's eyes in the bowl in his hands.
Lulu, the Cthulhu woman.
Thing (aka. Grunt), one of the Deep Ones from R'lyeh.

SUMMARY PLOT:
It started with Ra and Vex wandering late just before sunset, they passes the "Whites Farm", and goes over to ask for directions to the nearest town. Just behind them comes D, he's being pursued by wolves that kills his horse. D is injured, Vex and Ra takes D to the farm that Lie and Lee owns.

D have a "box" that a Noble Vampire is after, so he's send bounty hunters, wolves and werewolves after D.
As thanks for Lie and Lee to shelter them on their farm for some days, Ra and Vex promised to help them hunt down what's been taking their livestock.

At first they catch Drago, who were scavenging of leftovers around the farm, they accuse him of being the thief but Lie confirms the toothmarks does not match to his maw.

They eventually find out it was Lulu, an ancient Lovecraftian creature, she was trapped in the lake nearby the farm and through age the artifact that kept her asleep worn out, after eating all the fish in the lake she turned to the nearest farms.

D is found of Lulu as she is about as old as him, even older. Ra and Vex said they would bring Lulu to the sea where she belongs so that she won't go back to any farms for food. Lie is tired of the farm life and have long planed to move away, so she with her brother, suggest they use their caravans and carts to transport Lulu with.

But D is the only one that can communicate and control Lulu, he follow along, and the once after him sees his new gang and puts a bounty on everyone head.

They later encounter Jason, who they had first met as Etrigan who is after the content of the "box" D got. As he wants to trade it for "The Book of Merlin" which the Noble Vampire have.

Traveling through a enchanting forest, Ra and Lie gets kidnapped by some creature from the river. D retrieves the girls, and the creature that had kidnapped them.
It turns out to be a fish-like humanoid that were under the control of the witch, that had lured the deep one out of R'lyeh and used him to kidnap girls for viced rituals.

Thank you very much. And I normally never focus much on clothing, but in this picture I did and I am very proud how it turned out.
And soft shading has become something I do for every picture now.

You... You include Lovecraft's stuff in your RPs, and the creature isn't a mind-breakingly horrifying monstrosity that ruins the fabrics of reality just by existing?

I am deeply ashamed.

XenoPredDragon In reply to TheRandomnessDude [2012-04-14 01:57:59 +0000 UTC]

Our RP, and the Lovecraftians are not my characters.
But I was surprised too, but then again so are these lesser creatures compared to Cthulhu.

TheRandomnessDude In reply to XenoPredDragon [2012-04-16 11:45:32 +0000 UTC]

There are other eldritch horrors than Cthulhu, you know. Either way, this is still really embarrassing, and I'm pretty sure Lovecraft would've been deeply, deeply upset over how much the entire POINT of his stories flies over whoever decided to use his characters' head. You wanna roleplay Lovecraft? Play Call of Cthulhu. At least THAT knows what the fuck Lovecraft is about.

For fuck's sake, people. At least you have your own characters, somewhat.

Your little heart would burst if you saw Haiyore Nyarlko.
I'd really recommend it if you want some real good Lovecraftian eldritch abominations.

"My little heart"? Did you mean this, btw: [link] ?

Because Japanese horror tends to be pretty good. I especially appreciate the focus on building atmosphere rather than jump scares.

But again... "My little heart"? xD

baring the fact the deep ones are a PART OF LOVECRAFT read Neonomicon before u go cussing our RP. wow jam ur hype it's just fun! remember what casual fun is? XD SERIOUS NERD TIME LAGIT!!

TheRandomnessDude In reply to Demorta [2012-04-18 09:57:36 +0000 UTC]

I can barely understand what you type. My problem isn't at all that you're having fun, bro, it's just that this is some serious butchering of the source material. It seems you cannot even understand my point, because I never said the deep ones aren't a part of Lovecraft's mythos. I said that you obviously don't understand it, and that's sad as shit, man.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demorta In reply to TheRandomnessDude [2012-04-18 14:23:36 +0000 UTC]

I'm just saying I think it's so sad you're taking our fun as an insult. XD You get upset about a RP that is non of your business and critisize Suni's epic art work because you have too much spare time. -I- take it as an insult that you would want to be such a negative-reality-merchant instead of saying something possitive about what Suni has spent feckin' weeks on.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheRandomnessDude In reply to Demorta [2012-04-18 16:54:02 +0000 UTC]

Well, let's see... I'm far from upset about what you guys do in your chatrooms or whatever, I just cannot quite see the reasoning: why butcher Lovecraft's work, when the entire appeal of Lovecraftian horror is that it's completely incomprehensible, and the creatures included are eldritch horrors we couldn't even begin to understand? I think it's odd to use Lovecraft's work to roleplay as when you clearly want them to be something they're not. It has nothing to do with me getting upset, nor does it have anything to do with free time - I'm just posing a question.

"negative-reality-merchant?" "possitive?" "critisize?" "art work?" "feckin'?" What the fuck, man?

Why should I say something positive about it? Like, for real: I doubt Suni posts her artwork here purely to get asslickings all day - so what's wrong with bringing up something else? Or did dA send out a memo that you're only allowed to say nice things about people's artwork and I didn't get it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Demorta In reply to TheRandomnessDude [2012-04-19 00:00:17 +0000 UTC]

there is critisism which helps and critisism which is being rude. want to crisitize then make something yourself.
this is not butchery this is something called fun, you need to learn how to have such.
there is no point posing a question when it is evident nobody would care to hear it.

hmgc In reply to Demorta [2012-04-19 00:29:32 +0000 UTC]

: Criticism. Criticism. Please spell correctly.

Tell me something: why do you and your other friend seem to think that you need to be a movie director to be a film critic? By that logic, the only ones who can criticize murderers and rapists are other murderers and rapists. One can be perfectly aware of how to analyze, deconstruct, and judge a product in a set medium without having created a product yourself. Or is Roger Ebert a hack, and Jeff Gerstmann knows nothing of games?

I'm not criticizing your fun; how you and your friends choose to have fun is really up to you. I'm not gonna bust down your door and scream "YOU'RE HAVING THE WRONG KIND OF FUN!" However - this drawing, and the characters involved, have been posted publicly on the internet for anyone with a connection to view. I have lots of fun chopping wood, writing, making music and tons of other shit -- but I know that if I release a track online, or put my writing out, I have to expect people to form an opinion on it. So, by making it publicly available, you are also inviting the public to view it -- and form an opinion on it.

'tis a sad day when not even those who use a public platform like the internet can understand such a basic thing.

And since it seems Suni has blocked me, I'm out!

Demorta In reply to hmgc [2012-04-19 01:48:07 +0000 UTC]

that's because you are creeping the hell out of Suni by stalking her so leave her alone. -_- find someone else to abuse.

TheRandomnessDude In reply to Elks0ng [2012-04-18 09:56:09 +0000 UTC]

Hey yo, you can absolutely make up whatever you want. And as long as it's published online and I see it, I can also say whatever I want about it. 's called freedom of speech.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Elks0ng In reply to TheRandomnessDude [2012-04-18 13:43:22 +0000 UTC]

there's freedom of speech, then there's slating my work and telling me i dont know shit.

come back to me when you've done something with your work that people love.

come back to me when you know fo sho that people recognize the things youve done.

because all i see is jealousy. bro you need to get yo head out yo arse and grow some tolerance of other peoples ideas

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

TheRandomnessDude In reply to Elks0ng [2012-04-18 16:47:32 +0000 UTC]

Actually... Freedom of speech and slating your work and telling you that you don't know shit is the same thing. Hence why we call it "freedom of speech" and not "limited speech rights." I can criticize, praise, critique, analyze, replicate and deconstruct every single thing you do or say, regardless of how hurt your feelings get. You feel me?

Actually, a lot of people like my work -- my real life stuff gains more attention than my dA stuff, but even that has people enjoying it immensely. But that is completely beside the point, because one does not need to be a movie director to be a film critic. One can understand and analyze a medium without having made a single thing related to that medium. If we were only allowed to criticize things when we've done them ourselves, then only murderers and rapists could criticize murderers and rapists. I'm sure you see your own fallacy, here.

Finally... Why would I be jealous? I didn't even know you existed until I made my initial post. The problem here is that you're using someone else's source material. You cannot call it your idea when you're straight jacking from Lovecraft. That's like me painting my dick green and calling it "My original take on Penis."

Why are you so rectumwrecked anyways?

just like you bastardize the darkness to fuel you're mary sue ive heard.

k

i know alot on lovecraftian culture and i was inspired by his work

im hardly butthurt by this. im more annoyed you're screaming how wrong this OC is because i plonked tentacles on a woman and said its something like Cthulhu and names her lulu

you just need to explore the internet a bit more, get your head screwed on and realize theres alot worse OC's out there and direct you're frankly rude bitching to there.

like i said, come back when you gain xp on life

TheRandomnessDude In reply to Elks0ng [2012-04-18 18:54:58 +0000 UTC]

Oh no, if you read what I wrote in the little gallery I made for that fanfic (which I wrote when I was... 13? 14?), it was definitely a flawed piece of work where I was essentially making a reproduction of the main character who followed a somewhat interesting plotline with really bad execution, punctuation, pacing and writing in general. The reason I keep it up though is that it's nice to remind myself from time to time about how I used to write and how different my things are now. I'm definitely not expecting anyone to be "tolerant" of it.

Explore the internet a bit more? I don't quite think you understand who you're talking to. I mean, if you want pieces on internet culture, mary sues, the nature of recolors and stuff, check out my prose work. It's somewhat old now, but a lot of it still rings true. Still, at the end of the day, it does not matter that someone made an inflated Cthulhu who eats wedding cakes while shitting into his own eyesockets... Yours is still a shit interpretation of Lovecraft's cosmic horror.

XP on life? Are you kidding me?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Elks0ng In reply to TheRandomnessDude [2012-04-18 20:34:45 +0000 UTC]

what you said right there is your own contradiction, this is why its getting so tedious to read what dribble you're saying.

you're trying to argue that my character ive made one random morning is shit. yet you'd rather pin up on your wall some inflation cthulu design shitting out its eyes.

please.

its like you're getting confused with yourself. shes not cthulu in a woman form, its a lovecraftian inspired pinup that alot of people enjoy. if you dont like it then dont look at it.

TheRandomnessDude In reply to Elks0ng [2012-04-18 21:37:51 +0000 UTC]

Uhm... You didn't understand what I meant, did you? What I meant was: even if that inflated Cthulhu is complete shit, it does not excuse your design. Just because Vlad the Impaler killed over 10,000 people by head-on-pike, does not make it any better that I killed someone. Do you understand what I mean, or is this flying over your head too?
