Jolteon perler. I did a Vaporeon a while back, which can only mean one thing... Flareon might be showing up before too long!

I like this one! Anyway, since I'm here to give you a critique, I'd say that this one could have used some "shading" in gray and a darker yellow in order to give it more depth an volume, the back of the Jolteon seems to be at the same level that the head is, and shading would help creating more sense of perspective. Also, maybe making it a tad bigger would have been nice, too. And, about the picture, I suggest that instead of flash you use another light source, like a small light, if you have an Ikea near you they have pretty cheap ones. Led's work nice, I use them for a lot of pics, but I don't know much about photography, so maybe you can ask someone that knows more about this!

This kind of picture seems a rather rare thing on this site. They look great. Simple design but flawless picture. And they must be damn fun to do, too!

I love how you don't put too much shading into it. Because some people zoom in on the actual sprite and just use all the exact colors, and sometimes, from up close, you can't really see what it is. But you don't do that.

Some of the pieces I try to put a little bit of shading in, but others I think look just fine without. First of all, I don't have a very wide spectrum of beads which can make the really detailed shading hard. Also, my brother told me once that he thinks the ones without shading look better. I remember showing him different examples once, and he said, "You call it shading, but it just looks like they ran out of same color beads to me."
Just a matter of preference, I suppose.

I still need to make a Flareon to go with my Jolteon and Vaporeon, and then I thought an Eevee and hopefully the other evolutions eventually... it's just buying those damn beads!
Also, I totally feel your pain. When I was making my Pikachu piece someone knocked the whole bottom half off and I had to redo it... so annoying! Looking forward to seeing Umbreon when hes all done though!

Update: I had to restart. When my sister kicked it over, I redid it and was a bead off somewhere. BUT. I'm not giving up.

It takes a bit of time, but they're not too hard to make. I look at the original sprites from the games and zoom in so that the beads match up with the pixels. It doesn't always match up just right, so sometimes I just have to go with what I think looks best.
