Eagle Rites for Chizuru 69376
TOP - #6
6. For those who are tied to the eagle, freedom is a treasure hard won and often fleeting. Depict your Tokota trapped, their freedom curtailed, and how they maintain their composure (or not) until an escape can be made.
She could not have known how fast the fires would spread. What started as a pillar a few buildings away soon grew to engulf the whole quarter-- perhaps even the whole village. When her master told her to run, she did-- but it wasn't fast enough. In desperation she tossed her training sword in a ditch and grabbed a mop, the shadows suddenly settling around her, circling like buzzards. The tolling bells and roaring flames were accented by shouts, but all faded as she was stopped in her tracks by the biggest tokota she had ever seen. It barked something in the language she had heard her master speaking with very important tokotas in the past; it seemed to be asking who she was.
She did not give her name. "Servant," The pup squeaked humbly in the tongue she had heard from the strangers, trying to still the shaking in her voice and her legs and focus instead on her pronunciation. "Servant. Please."
The figure seemed to regard her gently before signaling to the others for her capture. She was not free, but she was alive.

9. Your Tokota is nearing the end of their quest to dominance and they make a final stop to visit an elder. They are instructed to make a journey to a sacred place where they can find spiritual waters; The Soul Pool , The Origin Spring , or The Oasis . Drinking from these waters will reveal the animal most closely aligned to their soul, the Eagle.
She could not have known how far the strangers would take her. She had indeed became a servant, fetching food and cleaning armor, bedding, floors, walls... Of course there were other servants with her on this journey. The caravans travelled far, across jungle and into dry fields, across scorching sands, through canyons of red and gold...
And then they stopped, unexpectedly. The water was much needed and the shade numerous, but the water was low, the springs more mud this time of year than actual water, and the largest... The largest was forbidden. The Oasis, it was called. When the other servants shoved her out of the scant puddles, she figured she could sneak down to the shimmering pools and take the purest water for her caravan.
The eagle at the waters did not bother her, though her hackles did rise at it's presence. Of course, the eagle's presence also thoroughly distracted her from the swirling waters that were forming the shape of a great bird and beginning to glow...

1. A serious injury has left your Tokota unable to move and/or speak for several days/weeks. Depict them regaining their faculties, recovering strength and gaining greater appreciation for the physical freedoms so often taken for granted.
She could not have known how dangerous the Oasis would be. She couldn't pinpoint when her consciousness had stopped. Two weeks had passed, Xen the Medic said. And yet stranger things had happened. She was healing, but her sight was gone. She had uttered a prophecy in midst of the burst of magic from the Oasis when she was found, one for the very king who had saved her from her village.
But strangest of all, the eagle had stayed with her, and would continue to stay through her regaining strength.
