Chapter 23

Morning broke, bright and sunny. Warm beams of light broke in through the curtains that Bam had forgotten to close the night before. He woke as a bright stream of early morning sunlight burst in and fell across his face.
“Ugh, fuck off.” Bam muttered as he threw a hand up to shield his eyes from the light. He looked over to the bed and saw Ville and Cassie still wrapped together, only they had turned in their sleep. Now Ville lay on his back, both his arms tightly wrapped around Cassie as he held her to his chest. Bam had forgotten about Ville. He was curious as to how he planned on explaining this to Danni. “What time is it?” She said as she watched Ville drag on his cigarette.
“Shit, its half past nine. I’ve been here all night. Danni is going to cut my balls off” He said as he stood up. He kissed Cassie on the head and gave her a quick hug before he ran out of the room. He continued running until he reached the door to his hotel room. He stopped outside the room, trying to decide what to say to Danni. He was on a time limit which made things harder. He would have to be out of the hotel in about an hour if he was to make his meeting.

He pushed open the door and found Danni sitting on the bed. She looked extremely pissed off.
“Where the fuck have you been all night?” She shouted as soon as he shut the door.
“I was in a pub, then I came back at about 4 am and I didn’t want to wake you so I went to the guys’ room and slept there.” He said. He had no intention of telling her he shared a bed with Cassie the previous night, he figured that would most likely end in a fist fight. She seemed satisfied with his explanation, and came over to him.
“Were you really that angry at me last night?” She said a hurt look on her face.
“Well yes. You were out of line.” He said, remembering now just how angry he had been with her.
“I’m sorry Ville. I honestly didn’t mean to knock the drink on her” She said, running her hands over his chest as she fluttered her eyelashes at him. “I missed you last night, I hate it when you’re angry with me” She said, pressing her small body into his. He could tell that she was trying to get him into bed; it was always her way to get round him. But he really was angry at her this time, but at the same time he didn’t have the energy to fight with her again about Cassie. “Look, sweetheart, I don’t want to fight about Cassie again. Please, would you just try and get on with her? Or pretend she isn’t there or something?” He said, putting his arms around her. He had thought of a way to sweeten the deal though, if she put up a fight.
“But Ville, I really…” He cut her off by placing a finger against her lips.
“Look if you try, and don’t make a fool of her again, then we’ll go shopping today, and you can pick whatever ring you want?” He offered waiting patiently for her to reply. A huge grin broke on her lips as she nodded her head. “Good. But right now I am running very late for a meeting so it’ll have to be this afternoon.” He kissed her on the lips and hurried into the bathroom getting ready quickly.

Meanwhile, along the corridor Bam was just emerging from the bathroom, planning on jumping onto the bed to waken his friends. His plan was ruined when he saw Cassie standing by her case looking out clothes, and Ville nowhere in sight.
“Morning Cass” Bam said, slightly disappointed that his plan was now ruined. “Where’s Ville?” He asked.
“With Danni I presume. He left like five minutes ago.” She said, as she found what she was looking for in her suitcase.
“Cool. So did you guys talk then?” He asked. Really he wanted to know if anything else had happened, although he didn’t think it would have.
“Yeah, we talked, and then fell asleep. I thought you’d have woken us when you got in.” Cassie said as she started to make her way across the room.
“Nah. You guys looked cute.” He said laughing as she walked past him and pushed the bathroom door shut. She discarded her towel and her underwear and jumped in the shower.

By the time that Cassie was finished showering Ville was leaving his hotel room. He arranged to meet Danni a few hours later back at the hotel. He flagged down a cab and was soon headed to his meeting, and was thinking about seeing Danni later. He really didn’t want to buy a new ring but it seemed like she would calm down a little if she got her way. As usual he apologised for being late, and then they got on with the meeting.

Cassie came out of the bathroom to find Bam sitting on the bed. He was holding her phone in his hand, obviously having just hung up. He explained that her brother had called and he wanted to meet them later. Bam had told him sure and they were meeting in the after noon.
