"Marilyn"Finally got around to drawing Marilyn Monroe. Took about a month and a half, due to my work schedule. I'm actually pleased with it, the jawline and cheek were very difficult to get right. She looked very macho for a while. Some times a drawing can look good or bad depending on one small section. I think I pulled it off in the end, though the paper was wearing thin from all the corrections I made.
-4B to 8B
-kneaded eraser
-tri tip eraser
-tortillons
-regular mechanical pencil
-same old stuff
-Strathmore smooth drawing paper 400 series. (I have "better" paper, but I can't bring myself to use it. I'll force my self on my next starlet portrait just to see if it will work. I just don't like the texture...)

There are so many bad Marilyn drawings out there but this certainly isn't one of them. I love what you have done with this. Your shading, particularly on the hair is very effective.

Wow! Dang, I'm at a loss for words. This is amazing. Truly amazing. I've always been a Marilyn fan, and have seen some pretty awesome renderings of her...but THIS! Wow. You captured everything...everything dead-on! What really stands out to me is her eyes. That sultry look...the 'bedroom eyes' that she was/is so famous for...(in part, no doubt the result of a few little pills, sadly enough) but she just exuded sex -- and sex appeal.

Thanks. I never took classes, I'm self-taught and still learning. Just lots of practice...when I have the chance.
