Description Java Sparrow | Tropical World

The Java Sparrow a.k.a. Java Finch and Java Rice Bird, is a Vulnerable species found only in Java, Bali and Indonesia. I wish I could have gotten better quality shots but some n00b with a bridge got too close to them and they flew away (they're free flying within the walk-through enclosures)

Nice. I like the Java Rice Sparrow, they are here in Hawaii, but boy can these guys eat. Three or four of them can wipe out my bird feeder in 10 minutes

Yes....they are introduced birds.....supposedly someone brought a pair here from Hong Kong back in the 1960s and they have gone forth and multiplied
