Description
This started as just a doodle over my favourite lizard in the whole Star Trek-'verse, but it turned out to be very enjoyable to draw and shade all those ridges, riffles and scales. Reference picture of Garak used, although I didn't pay so much attention to the actual facial likeness rather than to general Cardassian physiognomy.0.7mm mechanical pencil

Excellent work! Nice shading and detailing on the scales. I agree with what the person ahead of me said about the sharpness of the pencil. There a couple of other things I'd like to point out to you as well. First, the lowest edge of his chin. The angle of the line of the chin, where it redcedes from the viewer is off by just a little bit. To Correct it - simply use the line of his eyes as a guide. They should basically be on the same angle. Match up his eye line and chin line, and you're in good shape.
The other thing is the ridge of scales on his forehead. Your light source is established as coming from the subject's left. Yet, if you look at the left (Subject's left) side of the forehead ridges, you have shadows in the area where the scales meet the surface of the head. That area should a lot lighter, on both his right and left (inside - as in closer to the center of the forehead - right scales, outside left scales) - though just a tad darker on his right, as that's the side that's farther away from the light source.
I commend you for your work. Any alien character is going to be a good deal more difficult to do as the details of the head and face will be dramatically different. I can only imagine what a pain those scales were to do. But you pulled it off. Way to go.

Wow... thank you so much for this in-depth comment! I see what you are pointing out, thanks a lot, I will definitely keep it in mind the next time - especially the hint about the eye-chin-connection. I also see that the lighting does look awkward, I will pay more attention to that also next time.
To be honest, the scales were very enjoyable to do... I was suprised about my own patience 
The next "alien" I plan to draw will be Gen. Martok, I guess

DS9 is by far my favourite Star Trek-show, hehe. I'm currently rewatching all the episodes, so expect more DS9-pictures soon, I guess

Yay, Garak, my very favorite character of DS9 - even over Quark and Odo, my other two favorites! (Why doesn't DS9 get the attention of the other new Trek shows? I think it's vastly superior to all of them!)

I agree with you, DS9 is (was) by far the best Star Trek-show. I think it doesn't get the attention it deserves, because it's so unusual in the light of the other shows - it's highly political, focussed on mostly ambivalent characters and at that not all "sunshine and lollipops" like the other shows. I think it was too complicated for "the usual Star Trek fan" to take. And certainly Garak is my favourite character too - who else?

Well, fuzzy as in not as crisp in some places as in others. Like on his forehead and temple. It is just something about the texture of the pencil work that makes me think "blunt pencil".
