Title: Fountain of Life
Theme: Celebration


Artist Statement:

The theme of celebration is expressed in a semi-abstract form using symbols and icons that represent Temasek Polytechnic (TP). The artwork is inspired by the TP fountain which I would like to express the vibrancy of life through the usage of bright and cheerful colours. The mythical creatures present in the artwork are hybrids of bird and horn as both of them are associated with music and it is an important element for celebration. The colour red is chosen not only presenting my school Temasek Polytechnic but also showcasing the spirits of TP students as being determine and possess passion in learning.


This is for my school's final assignment of 2D painting and it took me around 2-3days to finish and fellow with more refinements.

haha thanks alot~ I drew my inspirations much from the Impressionists
It's quite some fun for me to play with acrylic using brushes and palette knife.

I'm going to continue to learn acrylic cox i think is quite fun

Oh but it's kinda far from the Impressionists, if you hadn't tell me I wouldn't have guess. But I see now, in the technics there is somethings similar

haha yes definitely. I am just incorporate some of their methods and modified them to become my style. hehe~ but I like their style and would learn from them

yes yes~ when I was first introduce to this style I felt uncomfortable because of some constraints but after awhile I think it is a great way to express oneself in painting!
