So... DA2 thoughts?Haha. I was supposed to make new DW pages tonight, but the whole DA2 announcement distracted me. This is a quick doodle of Morri and Edric breaking the 4th wall.
I had some dialogue in my head while I was doodling it but it escaped me by the time it was finished. Would probably edit it in once it crashes back into my mind.

This just reinded me of my favorite codex entry and random NPC conversation. You know, the one btween the two guys outside that taven at Lake Calenhad(about someone manipulating them for their pure amusement).
This was the first time I got this codex entry as well. I told my dog to search around the larder and he found this cewed up journal.

I can see three possibilities for the Dragon Age series. The first being that Bioware has decided to end the storyline of the Warden from Origins and is going to play out the rest of his story through DLC and or expansions. This would then have the warden die in the last DLC/expansion for Origins either saving the land again, or going down to Orzamar for the Calling. Considering that they brought back one of the original voice actors for a DLC (Leliana`s song), I can honestly see them also expanding on the romance stroylines as well. Through individual DLC, you could further explore the romance you had with a particular character later in their lives together. This could involve children as well. This way, Bioware can allow you to pick and choose the content you want based on who you romanced in Origins. For example a romance download for Leliana, and another for Alistar. The stories would continue in this way as well, allowing you to tie up any loose ends left behind after Origins and Awakenings. This then lets you continue onto a fresh start in DA 2.
The second path I see is that DA 2 takes place either durring the events of DAO, DAOA or just after and continues the story of the Grey Wardens in a different country. This could deal with the reprecussions of defeating the blight in Ferelden and, since this game takes place over a decade, begin the development of a new plot to finally end the blights once and for all. This sets the plot up for DA 3. Since you have no choice in you character design or origin in DAO 2 it leads me to belive that Bioware is trying to limit the number of storylines they have to plan for to make the game easier to carry over into a third game. DA 3 would essentailly be the return of your DAO character to lead the group against one last battle against the darkspawn, and may even have you entering into the Black City to undo the taint. This would allow Bioware to bring back the DAO Warden, now maybe has been promoted to the First Warden, to command the full force of the warden armies. Your character from DA 2 would then get a equally important role and the two would work together to win. You would essentially spend DA 2 and 3 fighting the final battle, with 3 being the climax of the series where your choices from the second game affect the outcome and difficulty of your battles in the third. This is personally what I am hoping for.
The third path I can see Bioware doing, is basically Mass Effecting the series. They give you an different enemy that is related somehow to the darkspawn, but not the primary antagonists of the series. For example, instead of fighting darkspawn, you are dealing with fade demons that are somehow working with the darkspawn. You then fight these enemies to set up the final battle in the third game, where you DAO character may come back as a cameo to help the DA 2 Warden.

Yeah, kinda silly that they didn't like, build off of what they had as far as character-making went. Like, I love that you can import your characters for awakening, but I suppose if 2 is going to be somehow separate from 1, it would make sense to NOT be able to import, but one of the cool points of DA was the ability to make your character unique [to an extent since you know, there were like four hair styles and colors ffff]. I was hoping for an even more indepth and complicated character making system, but not much -I- can do. *shrug.*

I'm gutted about the fact that you HAVE to be a human - I have never gotten a human past Ostagar (or even through Ostagar!). I love my dwarves I can't help it. It sounds to me that it's going to be a bit like Mass Effect which I'd be disappointed with - I've got Mass Effect I want Dragon Age.

I like the character's design and all, but I liked having a custom character to run around as. I'm also going to greatly miss the origins part of the game, maybe they'll bring it back in a different game. Who knows. XD

I think Hawke is pretty customizable still much like Shep. Though he can't be another race. I am rather unsure about it as well.
