I finally settled on a hero name for this dork.

As for why it is what it is, it's a reference to how ground penetrating radar works, since that's basically what his Quirk is, only it's biological instead of manmade.

This nondestructive method uses electromagnetic radiation in the microwave band (UHF/VHF frequencies) of the radio spectrum, and detects the reflected signals from subsurface structures. The only difference between that and Tosei's Quirk is that his Quirk is negated by water or ice, and it's very hard to use in things like mud or sand. My boy is a walking, talking radar device tbh.

That bottom expression is very, vary rare. He's usually a ray of sunshine and getting him genuinely angry is difficult to do. He also tends to be a bit of a pushover tbh.
