Raptor Trooper of Warlord Zsinj in the Battlefront 2 pose. The Raptors were the elite troops of Warlord Zsinj. With the majority of true stormtroopers remaining loyal to the Central Empire after Endor, most Warlords and breakaway Imperials simply put Army troopers and conscripts into stormtrooper armor, to create the illusion of legitimacy, though this was undermined by the poor quality, training and morale of the ersatz troopers. Warlord Zsinj took an altogether different approach and created his own elite corps that would combine elements of the stormtrooper corps and the Emperor's Royal Guard. They possessed greater training and more efficient equipment that was tailor made for their members compared to their stormtrooper predecessors. The armor allowed for greater field of vision and freedom of movement than the Stormtrooper armor. In addition to the armor, the Raptors were given custom landing shuttles and the TIE Raptors for combined arms operations. The Raptors were proficient in both close quarters combat and explosives, when coupled with their fiercely unshakable loyalty to Warlord Zsinj easily placed them among the most dangerous Trooper types faced by the New Republic in the years after the Battle of Endor. After the death of Warlord Zsinj, most of the Raptors would either be killed, commit suicide or become terrorists until hunted down by either the New Republic or other Imperial groups, with the last remnants joining Ennix Devian's hardliners in the Restored Empire. These last vestiges would die in Devian's attempted Coup D'état against Admiral Gilad Pellaeon's reunified True Empire at the battle of Orinda, only to be surrounded and wiped out by Imperial reinforcements and the intervention of Royal Guardsman Kir Kanos. No confirmed members of the Raptor Troopers are noted after this event, being seen as the definitive final end to the remnants of the corps.
