We're so far away from the rest of the world! Sometimes I wish it was easier to travel! My body wasn't made for long distance travel! lol I am too tall!! lol

Indeed...I will love to travel to Australia and NZ but for now, flight time stopped me...but I was thinking to a plan... japan first for few days (already 14 hours of flight ) then Australia...(10 hours to Canberra bis !) but not in one time but...I have to take 1 month of holidays for that 😱
I never sleep into bus, train, car or plane....so not the same problem but harsh too

One thing that tourists don't realise is that once they get here, Australia is so big it takes a lot of time and effort to travel around. There is often a lot of kilometres in between places. For instance, to travel between Sydney and Perth is is approximately 4,000 kilometres! It takes about 5 days to drive (8 hours a day)  There is not a lot to see in between (except gum trees and desert! lol). To fly takes about 5 hours and is quite expensive. It's cheaper to fly to New Zealand from Sydney than Perth. lol A friend had some Austrian relatives here recently and they tried to see Sydney in 2 days!!! Mostly it depends on what you want to see, the Great barrier Reef, tropical rainforests, the desert, Sydney, Melbourne, and the beaches.

Australia is a continent with all type of biotopes, it's amazing, I would love to see the tropical rain forests of the north coast and the desert of course ! There's so many amazing (and dangerous ) animals where you're living ! They are quite easy to spot...here in Europe it's very difficult to see the big faune cause every species is hunted they are all scared

Yes, we've got plenty of animals that can kill, bite, sting, poison and hurt you! But the worst is the ... Koala or drop bear!!! No really ...

Yes ... they have big fangs!!! They bite poor tourists in the neck!! No really!

Would I lie to you? (cough cough)

Omoidenoki In reply to xjames7 [2019-11-02 11:52:24 +0000 UTC]

They surely have fangs to climb into trees...but they are definitively too sluggish to bite anyone

Would you like some throat drop ? it's not summer for now, take care and don't catch a colf

The pleasure is always mine, Peter!

I see dandelions as the symbole of transience.

They are beautiful!

Thank you a lot, it was very nice weekend for me, even if here is already colder autumn weather.

I've always loved the delicacy of these dandelion clocks  They really are gorgeous, and that's a beautiful shot again, Peter!

And I was also always a fan of The Rolling Stones (well, still am I guess!) However, I can honestly say I've never heard that particular song! It sounds quite 'folky' for them.

Thanks Sharon!

I'd heard that song before, but I didn't know it was called "Dandelion". I saw the Rolling Stones once! I took the day off school! lol

I went with two older mates. We got there very early and had to wait about 6 or 7 hours for them to come on stage.

I think I told my parents 'afterwards'. lol
