I decided to start off the year with some speed-painted portraits of my horses, spending no more than an hour on each. Basically I'll be painting a bunch of headshots. I'm planning to do all the adults.

Pedigree: Foundation (I bought him at an ATAodA auction)
Discipline: Flat racing

Khalim is a snakey, bitey stallion with rather pronounced trust issues, but he's a speed demon on the track and he's improving his attitude slowly.

Khalim has been awarded the title of URA 2010 Stallion of the Year!

I used a picture of Akpai (an Akhal Teke mare) taken by Kerri-Jo as a reference.
