{{+ Loyal, Charming, Efficient, Level headed +}}
{{o Venal, Compliant, Casual o}}
{{- Lazy, Disobedient, Indifferent, Materialistic -}}
Summary: Growing up with a strict father Lagnell always had to work hard and find ways to get the most profit out of the least amount of time. Having left this past life behind, he developed a much more lax and frankly somewhat lazy attitude towards work much more preferring to sneak off during patrol to take a nap on the hot lava rocks within the tribes territory or leaving it all together to visit some of the other tribes. Whenever he does decide to pick up the work he previously started to pile up, he is in fact capable to working very efficiently and getting the job done, while remaining level headed even in dire situations. Lagnell is venal and materialistic and will do almost anything for the right price.
Not being entirely used to living in a tribe with many other cats and having to follow a bunch of rules, Lagnell has become somewhat disobedient, preferring to do things his own way as long as they don't get him in too much trouble. Despite that the soldier is pretty compliant, avoiding drama as best as he can. He'd rather take whatever gets thrown at him or others than speak his mind, often opting out for the 'smile and nod' tactic. Lagnell couldn't care less about what others think about him. Someone who doesn't like him the way he is simply isn't worthy his time and energy.
Lagnell may often come off as a leech, profiting off of the other's hard work but deep down he does care about the community that took him and his siblings and will remain loyal to his tribe and the ones he cares about. Being a charming tom who knows his way around words, Lagnell isn't afraid to flirt with other cats here and there not even sparring those with a position of power. In his opinion that all cats are equal and none should receive special treatment over their rank and authority.
HISTORY
:: Backstory ::
Lagnell's parents were a stereotypical odd couple. His mother Ivrah was a quiet young dame who seemed to care deeply for others while her mate Raijinto was a hardworking tom who took everything that didn't subscribe to his ideal as a weakness. They met during the early months of the year, snow still spotting the landscape here and there. Raijinto brought along his own child from a previous mate, Durandal.
The months went by and when the leaves started to turn red and fall off the trees, Ivrah realized she was expecting children of her own and not soon after Lagnell and his littermate were born. The other little tom didn't make it through the night, passing not long after, never having received a name. Their father did not see the point in naming a dead kitten, that was too weak to survive anyways, choosing to wait on naming Lagnell himself until they could be sure he would make it.
Growing up Lagnell had always looked up to his older sibling, Dura. Being the hardworking rogue he was, Raijinto often pushed his children to the limits in training, wanting them to succeed and grow strong from a young age on. In his eyes success could only come from suffering and pressing on despite the fatigue. Time went on as such; they learned to defend themselves, hunt and fight of enemies, any sign of weakness punished. Until one day, when Durandal had enough of their father's tyranny and decides it's time to put an end to this. Lagnell woke up in he middle of the night by some rustling within their den and found Dura about to sneak out. Afraid of waking their parents the younger tom simply followed his sibling for a moment until they were far enough away.
He approached the older cat begging him to not leave but he wasn't convinced. Set on not wanting to live like this any longer so instead, Lagnell changed his plea to let him join him. And so the two set out to find Dura's mother.
The journey was a tough one especially to two adolescent toms all on their own but Durandal remembered where he and his father had come from when they first left. Lagnell, albeit tired, was amazed by the sheer amount of different lands they traversed and creatures they met. Their journey took them through forests, fields, human villages and more until they reached Dura's old home. Asking around some of the resident cats that still lives in the area, they soon found out his mother had left a while ago to find a new life. The strangers pointed the siblings into a rough direction. The two of them had to ask around a lot to find hints at where to go to next but eventually they managed to come closer and closer to their goal until finally finding them.
Lagnell felt a little out of place; neither of the cats being related to him made him uneasy. To his surprise Amiti took both of them in despite Lagn not being her own blood. He was overjoyed by the amount of love she gave them, love he'd never received from their father. They found out that Amiti had another son with her new mate; Shion. He was a little younger than both of them and Dura seemed irritated at the cream colored kitling. Lagnell took a liking to the snarky, sarcastic tom, finding a lot of his own sense of humor in the other cat. Life from there on out wasn't easy but it was good; their new parents proved to be a lot more caring than what the two siblings were used to.
Some time after arriving weird rumors of a sickness started to spread around the little communities of cats nearby and cats started to fall victim to it. They thought themselves safe, putting things off as coincidence and the other cats going mad until it started to affect their parents. Scared for their well-being, Amiti begged her children to run and find a safe place. Hesitant the siblings eventually complied, running as far as their legs could take them until they came upon a large group of cats, migrating towards what they called "the Door". Durandal, Shion and Lagnell decided to join the tribes on their journey in hopes of finding a better place.
